Help! Missing item!

Post by Orion79 »

Hello, I did a minor mess while playing at Storm of Zehir.
Since I've discovered that there is a hack on neverwinter vault that restors recipes until +8 weapons, I've decided to delete all my custom-enchanted stuff and to re-craft stuff at the top of its potential (having only +3 weapons for epic-level characters is silly!)

The reason is that damned bug that prevents from UPDATING items power bonus (+1, +2 ecc...) *IF* the item itself already has 3 proprieties of any kind. So if I want to enhance my +2 (enchantment) composite/mighty (ability 1) longbow of bolt (thundering, ability 2) to a +4 weapon, I can't because it already has 3 abilities even if the first one still has not reached the top.

So, by mistake I've deleted a shortsword that I like, Kizu's short sword but I can't restore it. I can leave without too, but I would like to have it back: I've tried with a savegame editor, but the sword does not pop up in the list and I've also tried with the code supposed by "thieves guild" does nothing. I tried with
DebugMode 1
and then
giveitem f31_ssword_kizu
but it really does nothing.

I have also tried to use the toolset to look in the original game, but it is too complicated for me! So, please, could anybody help me? And do yoy know about any hack that does fix this nasty enchantment bug? Can I have 4 enchantments if my wizard reaches epic levels? Thank you!!

Have you tried targeting the character you want to give the item to? IIRC you needed to do that to mod any character's attributes through the console. Not sure if the same is true for item codes. No harm trying... if you haven't already.

yes, of course! But nothing. The only hope is to open the original game with the editor, but it is so complicated! :(

Just to be clear, you have to target the character (right click) rather than select the character (left click). You also might need to use

giveitem f31_ssword_kizu 1

I've found a "recent enough" savegame that I didn't see before, so I've managed to recover the sword, but the console cheat is not working with that specific item only. I've tried with other stuff, as ordinary short swordds and everything is ok.
So too bad for me, so that I will learn of not to use quick-save only! :) Thanks for help anyway!

PS [OT] Also, a strange bug: I've taken the NPC bard with me and, when I came back to the fortress merchant guild, the NPC half-orc paladin has attacked the bard, and both where still in talking-mode! :P
