When stealing back the Hammer from the Dark Eyes, the Banshee Walk-Thru indicates the if you're in sneak mode you won't be detected. Well, I can't get by the first guy - the man standing at the counter. What's the secret here???

If by "the man standing at the counter" you mean the guy in the back of the warehouse, then you're not supposed to sneak by him. You're going to need to climb up into the rafters. This is explained in the walkthrough.
