Rescue the archeaologist. Troubles with time limit.

Post by comiendotomates »

Hey guys....
Trying to do the rescue the arcaeologist quest but I can never do it before I run out of time. I usually am trying to kill the second last bloody minion and my time runs out.....What are some ideas for killing the minions faster? Or should I just build myself up and make my speed faster?
Thanks.

Max your strength, speed, physical shield, battle charge and enflame. You should be able to sail through just fine.

I have a strategy that works really well, if you do it right you only have to fight two minions and tat annoying assasin on the prison path. Get slow time (to at least level 3, for maximum time). Activate it as soon as you enter prison path, and run down to the dock where the two minions are. Force push anyone out of your way. If you got here in time, there are only two, the rest are back at the hill. Kill them as fast as you can before the others arrive and you beat the quest

For me it's just Slow Time, running down, then Slow Time + Enflame + Divine Fury (or Infernal Wrath perhaps, i dunno if there's a difference). Ghost Swords active, of course. In fact downcoming minions are just in time then - as nightflys to fire. No one of them survives. At the beginning i cared about guards - but not any more after first time in Jack's prison :)

Timer problem

I read this about the timer on the minions :
If you have 'area-effect spells', this isn’t too bad, but if you’re a pure melee fighter, you’ll have your work cut out for you. The "slow time" spell will slow down the minions, but it won't slow down the timer, so it's not a great spell to use here.
So - what are area-effect spells?? Does it mean enflame and divine fury and that sort of thing?

Yes. Enflame is an especially useful AOE spell to have here. Just use Slow Time + Enflame to keep the minions away from you. Then proceed to rush down to the pier to rescue your objective, ignoring the minions behind you. Once you have reached the pier, more of them minions will appear. Just keep spamming Enflame and other potent damaging spells like Multi Strike. Don't bother with Divine Fury or its evil counterpart. They take too much precious time to cast, time you cant afford to be wasting with the timer ticking away.

Time limit

It worked out just fine with just multi strike and shield level 3 the whole time. Killed all the minnions and got there in time. Not as hard as I was expecting
