So I'm trying a second run through with an evil party (I guess I'm addicted).
I'm at the very beginning of the new game now. I know I want Haer Dalis in my party for most of the game. I'd like to get him ASAP--but I'm not ready for the Planar Prison yet.
Does anyone know how long I have after getting H.D. before he gets nasty and leaves?
Also, I'd like to get the big discount from Bernard ASAP (for recharging wands). Do you get that discount as soon as you save Hendak, or do you also have to free the kids in the stockade to get it?
Haer Dalis deadline, Hendak? (spoilers)

No. Addicted when you've played it, and added tons of mods, more than half a dozen times.mattc wrote:So I'm trying a second run through with an evil party (I guess I'm addicted).
I've never had him get angry. If you don't return to the tavern with the gem, you can just keep him in your party.I'm at the very beginning of the new game now. I know I want Haer Dalis in my party for most of the game. I'd like to get him ASAP--but I'm not ready for the Planar Prison yet.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Now, if you really want to play an evil party, the way to go is with the Valen mod. She's powerful, no question, but she also imposes her personality on your choices. She'll jump in and make sure that certain situations are faced...correctly.Lopov wrote:But if you're playing as an evil guy, why free Hendak?Instead kill him for Lehtinan and you'll get a discount from him.

I didn't realize I could kill Hendak and get the discount that way. I hate to lose the quest XP . . . but if there's an actual evil plot line, I'm definitely gonna follow it.
I did hear know about the Valen mod, but I decided not to use it this time around, still exploring the vanilla game. If it turns out I am really addicted I'm sure I'll give her a try eventually.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Valen mod is a good mod, she'll get you into some serious fightings you will not be able to avoid
About killing Hendak, there is a spoiler below::mischief:
And if you're playing with Unfinished business mod, there is also a chance to get some slaves for Lethinan, but I won't reveal it to you unless you want to.

Once you gain access to back rooms of Copper Coronet, go to the jail and if you have charisma high enough, you can convince the guards that you're one of Lehtinan's guests and they won't attack you.Otherwise just kill them, other guards in the main room don't turn hostile, neither does Lehtinan. Then go near Hendak's cell and he'll initiate a dialogue, I think you'll know what to do then if you're evil...

For future tries (after you discover that you ARE indeed addicted ) look for Longer Road mod too.
And if you wont side with.. you know who.. to get Valen, there's Ninde.

Longer Road is also good, but I must admit that I expected much more from the main quest (the one in WK).Firstly, you can easily destroy the quest if you're playing as evil, because I and I didn't really find the quest overall so exciting.Beside that it's ok, just too many words in certain dialogues.
But enough off-topic.

killed Aesgareth on sight and the Gem for the Deva wasn't on his body
