Schrecknet Easter Egg

Post by DarkMasta »

The secret Nosferatu Network Schrecknet...i belive that the Name Schrecknet may have come from the silent movie "Nosferatu", the actor that plays the Nosferatu is called Max Schreck.

Good call man! Actually the Ghoul named Romero was named after "George Romero" the director of the night of the living dead movies.

Most of the game has easter eggs to it. You really should start at the beginning, or close to. Almost everything is an easter egg in the game.

Yeah...i like the easter egg's that involve Andrei and Mitnick...wich btw are:

Andrei calls to the radio show the Deb Of Night, and the character Mitnick was given that name because of the worlds greatest hacker Kevin Mitnick.

One of my favourite easter eggs is the "Elizabeth Dane", the ghost ship from John Carpenter´s "The Fog" (the original movie, not the really, really awful remake), in connection with "AntonioBay", which, of course, is the name of the cursed village haunted by the Elizabeth Dane in said movie.

I just simply love this game! :)

My favorite easter eggs are those related with Double Dragon.

At the hospital you can check one computer with info of the cadavers stored in there, one of them is called Abobo, a sub-boss which became a trademark of future Double Dragon releases. The description also mentions that he was beaten to death with a baseball bat, Double Dragon was the first game which introduced street gang fights (well, guess "Renegade" was the first, but they only changed the characters from "Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-Kun" which was about school gangs) in suburban scenarios and used day-to-day items as weapons (canisters, boxes, baseball bats, etc.).

Another mention of the Double Dragon franchise is when you're about to fight the Blade and Claw Brothers in the Giovanni Mansion. One of the lines you can choose when talking (playing as a Tremere and I can't remember if other clans too) calls them "Double Dragon wanabees" or something like that.
And so I left...
