Turning Bao Dur into a Jedi

Post by Sakari »

How do you do it? No matter what I do I cannot seem to manage to get him to convert to a jedi class.

Is it a matter of influence points? I have achieved a lot of influence points on him but every time I talking to him it just says "never mind."

Does anyone have any sure-fire way of doing this?

Scratch that, I figured it out. SPOILER below (highlight to read):

There is no simple trick, you simply have to have him tag along with you and do nice deeds in his presence. That and when you have any other conversations with him always compliment him or take his side of the argument.

Once you gain enough influence, it automatically jumps to a dialogue with him about how he feels at peace more at peace with himself being around you, and you simply progress through that until it gives you the option to train him in the force to help him use it as a shield against his darker impulses.

Obviously I did this as a Light side character, and since he tends to appreciate acts of kindness it will be more difficult to gain enough influence to achieve the Jedi upgrade when going Dark side. Hence why I had so much trouble last time I played... Sorry I cannot be of more help for Dark Siders, though I am planning another Dark side character so if I figure out any tricks I will update this post.

Bao-dur is definitely one of the most lightsided characters, its extremely difficult to get high INF with him if you choose Dark Side dialogue options. I personally don't use him much, but as you said, you just need to gather enough influence over the course of the game.

IIRC half of your companions respond favorably to LS options whilst the other half, most of them droids, thankfully, like DS better.
