I am thinking of adding swords or some other weapon to Rhulana (sp?) but am not sure how good she can become at them, is there a way to tell? Will she ever be as good at them as she is with sabers? This question goes for my character as well (who is an elf using a spear).
I noticed on the few different characters that I've started and played with a little bit that some skills max out at lower levels than with other characters. So if I start pumping points into Rhulana's swords, can she even be as good as she can be with sabers or is it a waste of points?
Is there a chart somewhere with this kind of info? Any help would be appreciated

How to tell how good I can be with weapons?
I think all characters get a basic use of all weapons, and then some classes get bonuses with certain weapons. Rhulana is an amazon, which means she gets +1 with melee weapons. From my understanding, that means she should be just as good with swords as with sabers.
If you want to be extra careful, then just save up some experience points with Rhulana, and then see how far you can advance swords with her. If you don't like what the answer is, then you can just cancel what you've spent, and use the experience points somewhere else.

Me: "It's a great way to get promoted, I know that much."

Actually most characters gets basic usage of basic weapons. But all the "better" weapons like swords, 2-swords, 2-h axes and fencing are not available to all classes and you have to learn the talents first.
If you got enough experience points to spend, you can always learn a new weapon talent and train it up, but I suggest to make the decision at the begining of the game.
