Fighter/WM/Assasin

Post by Yeltsu »

Hey people :)
I dug this game up again and got an idea as I was wandering about Luskan with my soon-to-be fighter/WM/DD. What about a WM/Assasin? THe idea was to further improve the WM abilities with a bit of death attack, poison, stealth and uncanny dodges. Not to mention improved invisibility, ghostly visage etc.

So i loaded up good old chapter 1 HotU to see if it could be done. I first tried to start off with a halfling rouge to see if that could be done. However, I soon experienced that since the WM prereqs are so feat heavy and i also would need weapon finesse, imp crit, and the dual wield feats (because i want to :P ) I basically ended up with a useless rogue/assasin/almost WM that couldn't kill a thing.. (8 str, 21 dex and no weapon finesse.. :P )

Second try: Human fighter, (too bad about the hafling. He would have been perfect) This time the feats were a breeze, i got WM at lvl 6 (including weapon specialization and finesse) I was quite curious regarding the reqs for assasin, but it worked out perfecly, rank 8 in hide and move silently was reached as i finished with WM at lvl 7. This left 2 levels for assasin and all the feats i wanted except imp dual wield. I had saved all my skill points, so i was able to max stealth and tumble as well.

So I guess my point is, what do you guys think? A fighter 6/WM7/assasin X Stealthing at the start of battles, then relying on a flurry of crits for the rest of the battle, Ki damage for crit immunes. I choose rapiers as my weapon which nets me 13-20 threat range (50% or so unless i'm mistaken?) Because of the fighter levels he is also quite versatile, being able to use a shield and 1 rapier should the situation require more AC or other shield given bonuses :)

Is it viable? A good idea? Thoughts? :)

it sounds like a valid concept. with some + elemental damage weapons should be good to go.

the main concern i'd have is spellcaster management, with your feats and skills fully allocated, it falls on having the right equipment at the right time.
