Missing Samurai Sword

I am playing Fallout 3 GOTY edition on an Xbox 360 (this means I'm not usin any unofficial mods.) I am currently doing mothership zeta and where the Japanese soldiers samurai sword should be, it isn't. I've watched 2 videos and reloaded several saves and no sign of the sword. I'm in the right spot but it's not there. And what's more is when I leave the Waste Disposal to go back to the engine core the Japanese soldier is gone. I'm sure this is scripted because the characters talk about him missing. Does anyone know where or why he left and if it's at all possible to get his sword? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Did you go to a lot of places before visiting the Maintenance Level? Perhaps if you wait too long, then Kago gets the sword himself, and it becomes unavailable to you. This isn't a big deal though. You wouldn't have gotten a reward for giving Kago his sword anyway.

Kago is supposed to leave, but you'll see him again later.

I went to the maintenance level as soon as possible. Are you sure I wouldn't have gotten a reward? If not then I won't mind to much. One more thing. In the same crate as a General Chase's overcoat is a holotape titled Anchorage Quarter Master shipment. Mine is blank. It has no time when it says time remaining. Is this supposed to be a blank tape or is it a bug? Once again thanks for the help!

I gave the Samurai his sword. He spoke in Japanese for a moment, and returned to his meditations.

Later, I found a path of corpses, all dead by blade.

I got nothing by way of reward. However, if he doesn't survive, you can get his Sword (and his armor, too).....

Thank you for the information. What else can i get aside from sword and armor?
