I have a suit and a tie, I just never untie the tie completely. I loosen/fasten it all the time.

No! Not a clue!
Since I've had to look for co-ops in the recent months, this problem has plagued me. Fortunately, for some reason, my lovely girlfriend knows how to tie them for me.
That, and I also noticed that most men have a collection of ties that they tied some decade back and never untied it since, thus also forgetting how to do so.

Bah - that makes the knot look all flat and too tightTricky wrote:I have a suit and a tie, I just never untie the tie completely. I loosen/fasten it all the time.
I don't wear suit/tie much anymore since I became a system developer instead of economics major at uni (clothes matter and nobody takes a system develop in tie serious

I can. Double knot. Only used for presentations in uni, though (together with a suit).
But, like the others, I prefer to prepare the ties beforehand so that I do not have to worry about it later on.![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/)

''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price

Single knot. Was taught a double knot many, many years ago, but rarely used it, and dropped it from my repertoire of esoteric knowledge.

Yes...had to wear them when I was teaching.....
used both double and single knots..
prefer the double, but depending on the fabric and tie, used the single also...
my job now doesn't require one for the most part...
and for a short period a few years ago, when taking part in a local produced movie, was using a bow tie......
I've since forgotten how to tie one of these..

Yes, of course I know how! When I was a kid, both boys and girls had to know, because we wore 'em at school. Funny thing is, though I have never worn a tie since I was 17, I use the 'tie' knot on my dressing gown belt... strange...

Of course I know how to tie a tie. Double-simple, Windsor, half Windsor, bow tie...it comes from years of practice, from young age, of untying them.

I was required to wear a tie through my last four years of school... *shudder*
During those years I don't think I ever actually learned to tie the damn thing.. I just kept it in the knot and had my father retie it every so often.
I imagine it's not all that difficult, but I could never really see the point of learning, considering that I was pretty sure I'd never need the skill once I left school.![Big Grin :D](./images/smilies/)
