leveling up

Is there anyway to level up. I thought I was doing just a side quest and ended up in the ruined temple facing dragons.

Just as your manual states, you level up by finishing quests and killing things.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Anyplace? I am doing most of the side quests. I ran out of things to kill in the forrest. As in the back alleys.

Check around in your area for quests. Talk to people. Look at job boards. Come on, now! :D

I do not think that there is any place with endless spawns, however.

There's a thread on the DA:O forum's second or third page at the moment mentioning one. Can't remember the name, but reading them should quickly find it. Can't say I ever used it, so I don't recall it.

You can infinitely do battle with groups of enemies at the Proving Grounds in Orzammar. If you skip the cutscenes and are well-equipped, you can gain a "bubble" of experience for each party member in just a few minutes. You'll also earn a small amount of coin for each fight.
