Just got the car from Smitty. Question.

Is it safe to store stuff in the trunk?

Yes, but be aware of several of the car bugs. [url="http://user.tninet.se/~jyg699a/fallout2.html"]This guide[/url] probably can tell you more about it. Sometimes the car disappears in certain areas if you don't enter at the "start area" of a location. (i.e. going directly to the Vault City proper instead of the entrance.)
