Toolset Unable to Connect to Database issue

Post by Revi »

I'm unable to start up the Dragon Age Toolset, it gives me the following error message:

"Unable to connect to the database. Run the toolset configuration program and verify your settings or search the toolset wiki http://social.bioware.com/wiki/datoolset http://social.bioware.com/wiki/datoolset."

This page tells me to log in. I log in with my bioware name and password, and am returned to a blank page. I don't know if the wiki is dead, overloaded, or if its just my exceptional bad luck, but the page is not available to me.

I've looked everywhere for a solution to the database issue, but to no avail. It seems I really need the info that is/was on that wiki page. Can anybody help me? Please don't respond with a link to the Dragon Age wiki!

EDIT: I've been able to get to the wiki now (it turned out I had to log off from bioware social, and log back in, then it magically started working). The toolset is still not working on my system though (after using most of the steps on that page), so any advice on this issue is welcome :)
You now bear the awesome responsibility of the Metal "Unit". Gussets of wind, seams like reality, pockets of resistance, the seat of power, and legs as flared as your temper. Polish it well; the onus is now on you.

I fixed the problem by altering the security policies of the database and the .ldf file and then with the Configure Toolset application selecting the database.

If you have Microsoft SQL Server you may need to change .\DATOOLBAR to .\SQLEXPRESS

I hope this works for you
