Pickpocketing Exploits

Post by Crenshinibon »

Since I'm replaying the game as a rogue, I thought it was only natural to invest in the Stealing skill with at least a single point. What I'm wondering is what kind of items have you stolen and where.

Please share your exploits on the poor and unfortunate!

I managed to get an Imperial Crossbow (Tier 7) in Lothering, which I think is something worthy of note, due to the strength gap (almost double the damage) between it and the bows you'd usually have at that point.
“The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially.”

I've mostly started using it in the Dwarven city. Notables are:

Champion Shield off of the Vaartug in the assembly waiting area.
Shapers amulet off of the Shaper.
10 gold off of the henchmen of the Lyrium smuggler. :p EDIT.. it was from Rogick himself, along with a "hale" journeyman rune.. and it was 20 gold! (..though it's likely all variable to some degree.)

So far crap from everyone else in the city ..but I haven't started into the arena yet (.or obviously the mines).

You are forced to take Stealing as a skill if you start as Dwarf Commoner.

I missed those 10 gold though :(

You also get a unique dagger from a dwarven noble (I think it's Bhelen's representative, not sure though).

However most of the time you recieve consumables, like health poultices, elfroot, mushrooms, salves etc. Money and the occasional precious stone are common pickings too.
I may be drunk, krogan, but you're ugly. And tomorrow I'll be sober.

From the pub owner in the area before the mage tower I got an ... interesting pick of some kind of doom item for pickpockets. :D

I reloaded though but I should re-pickpocket it some other time just to find out what it does. :D

I'd like to hear more of these - they're helping me fill in our equipment database :) .

I believe you're referring to Lord Dace. He can be pickpocketed for the tier 3 version of the Thorn of the Dead Gods.
