Landsmeet (bug?) *spoilers*

Post by Solusek »

So... I'm at the Landsmeet at the moment. The problems is as follow. I always win the vote, 4-2 or 5-1, haven't managed to get all 6 yet, maybe because I'm an elf. Yet I still "lose". What's wrong?

Another thing is that Anora betrays me even though I successfully arranged the marriage between her and Alistair. Shouldn't the side with me now?

From what I've gathered so far it seems that you ALWAYS 'lose' the Landsmeet if Anora doesn't side with you. However I haven't exactly figured out yet why Anora isn't on my side. According to what I've read in other forums she should side with me if I either support her or arrange a marriage between her and Alistair. Could that be a bug? Or could it be that she betrays me because I insisted that her father has to die once she was declared the ruler of Ferelden?

I really hope someone can help me here!

Please help me out here! I'm too much of a perfectionist to continue playing without knowing exactly what's wrong or how I can win the Landsmeet anyway.

Unfortunately I talked to Anora and Alistair about the marriage before doing the Alienage Quests, so reloading back to that point isn't really an option for me...

Desperately,

I find it most likely that she is betraying you because you opted to kill Loghain.
To the losing of the vote, I am not entirely sure, appears to be a bug?

Doesn't necessarily have to be a bug. Apparently Anora's vote carries a lot of weight, so you lose if you don't have way more votes on your side. Since I killed Vaughn during the City Elf Origin and and Ser Cauthrien had a tragic accident when she tried to arrest me that makes two less potential votes afaik.

So it's 4-2(+Anora) for me and that doesn't seem to be enough. It appears I have to slaughter them all for betraying me. =/

Edit: I think it's 5-2 not 4-2.

I was not aware of the value of Anora's vote, though I'll have you know that I killed Ser Cauthrien. As for Bann Vaughan, I played a Dwarf so I didn't encounter him.

I can only go by my experience as a Human Noble - but it seems whatever happens - you will fight Loghain.

I think at least 1 noble always supports Loghain in the landsmeet, irrespective of how you handle the conversations (usually a bald git in a fruity outfit.) But if you get more of the vote and your persuade is high enough you can challenge Loghain to single combat, avoiding the mass brawl.

The problem is that you have decided to kill Loghain. If you do that, regardless of what you have agreed with her before, she will turn against you. You can indeed avoid the fighting by chalenging teyrn Loghain to a duel.

Well, I slaughtered them all, duelled Loghain, beheaded him so that his blood splashed right in his daughter's face and let Alistair throw her into the tower.

A fitting fate for the traitorous b**** and her father if you ask me.

Aye, well done! Pity you didn't give Alistair the honour of killing Loghain though.
