Anora (Spoilers)

Post by mewp »

I tried rescuing her and she turned on me , I died. Next time I surrendered and she was saved. Now she wants an alliance. I wonder if she is trust worthy.

She is trustworthy so long as your terms are reasonable. Don't say that Loghain must be killed for one thing.

Yup... that really seemed to break it for me.

When it came to determining who would take the throne, Alistair or Anora, I had persuaded them to arrange a marriage and the neutrality of that may have kept her on my side. However after dealing with Loghain and winning the vote, Arl Eamon gave me the power who decide on Alistair or Anora. I called off the marriage and decided on Alistair. He then had Anora arrested when she detested, and she said she would not have been so generous in his position (possibility of Alistair being killed? I'll follow up on that next play through).

So, there you are, one possibility to retain her trust, if only to diminish it in the end, you win the vote.

Interestingly, if you "die" in the fight right after you "rescue" her, you don't get a reload screen. Something else happens, and it's pretty cool.

Really? I'll make sure to die when I get to that point.

Lol no way. I must've reloaded every time they were about to kill my last character, because I feel like I died a LOT during that fight and dont remember getting anything else. I'm going to go dig out a save from around there and try it.

Okay so I did it, and I "died", but I'm left with one question: if you take that alternate path, can you still get The Summer Sword? (Ser Cauthrie's sword)

It isn't the last time you see her, so yeah, I'm fairly certain you can get it at a later time.

I tried agreeing to back her for queen, I tried arranging a marriage with Alistair, I didn't mention loghain at all and still at the landsmeet she turns on me. Perhaps it is my personality.

You didn't happen to mention to Ser Cauthrien that you were in the Arl's estate trying to save Anora, did you? Revealing Anora to Ser Cauthrien will cause her to turn against you.

For the fight, sure, but she will still support you later at the Landsmeet. I had her agree to marry Alistair (though she changed her mind later since I had him kill Loghain) and for them to rule jointly, made no promises either way about killing Loghain, and she supported me against her father at the Landsmeet.

I like Anora and I feel that she is the perfect candidate for queen, but I don't like the ideal of sending people to death when it comes to power.

King Behlen did the same thing sending people to death.

Not surprising. Would YOU marry your father's killer (in her shoes), no matter HOW justified they may have been?

EDIT: She can be persuaded to spare Alistair.
