Great Totemic Mace

Post by lucius22 »

Hey I was just wondering if anyone knew if you could duel wield with a great totemic mace(the heavy mace, not the medium)? my heavy weapons is 13 and I wasnt sure if dumping a bunch of points into it will allow me to duel wield or not? if it matters my guy is a deathlord, and he duel wields a great sword/regular totemic mace, but cant with the great. thanks for the help

Do you want to use the heavy mace in your main hand or your off hand? As a deathlord, you're limited to medium weapons in your off hand.

Yeah in the main hand, but when I equip it I cant equip anything in my off hand, light or medium. I dunno if I need enough strength (I have 75) or if I need to increase my heavy weapons skill? Because when I first got a greatsword, before I had 10 in heavy weapons I dont think I was able to duel wield and thought you couldnt duel wield with a heavy weapon at all but now I can and after looking forward to getting that mace for a while found I couldnt use anything else with it, ultimatly decreasing my damage output significantly and its counterproductive to use. So I was wondering if I should keep this or go back to the chest and re roll for the relicblade of night and winter bow, which I got once or not.. decisions decisions, anyone know if either of those drop in later chests?

Dungeon Lords is a little quirky with dual wielding, and heavy swords work in the main hand, but apparently not maces. I don't think increasing your strength or heavy weapons skill will change anything in that regard.

There are lots of threads on dual wielding, if you want to search through them.

Thanks for the help, I just reloaded and got the bladerelic of night, it sucks that such a nice weapon (the mace)cannot be utilized by my deathlord  but all is well, I really wanted that winter bow.. and on another topic, from reading previous posts I assume that this is the type of game that just ends and doesnt let you continue on adventuring? by that I mean, the stuff you aquire in the demon realm, you can't use past that? Can you leave the demon realm from the entrance? I doubt it for some reason, and it does indeed suck. thanks again for your help

You can save your game after beating the soul devourer and use that save to start a new game via the multiplayer option (briefly: save, start multi-game, save, load in single player).
