Questions about quests (Spoilers)
Questions about quests (Spoilers)
At first, I'd like to ask about a couple of quests in Orzammar.
"Admirable Topsider" quest:
When you find all necessary pieces, you get a new quest in your journal that says about the battle this topsider fought against the darkspawn. Where is the battle site?
"Precious Minerals" quest:
It's the quest where you make a deal with a shady dwarf, regarding selling lyrium to the Circle. His contact in the Circle is a guy named Godwin. If you have destroyed the Circle (sided with Templars), is there a way to resolve the quest in a profitable way (without losing 40G and just killing the dwarf)?
Then there is the vials quest.
In my journeys I have come across these black vials that summon a Revenant if you mess with them. I assume that there are six Revenants (because there are six fingerprints at the end of each note you recieve when you kill them). So far I have encountered four:
Circle Tower
Orzammar Royal Palace
Brecilian Ruins 2nd level
Brecilian Ruins Welewolf Lair
Where are the rest?

I may be drunk, krogan, but you're ugly. And tomorrow I'll be sober.

I believe there are two more Revenants in the forest, before the ruins.
For the Topsider quest, you should get a "quest marker" on the Deep Roads map.
You are able to sell the lyrium to any merchant for some money, though it's still significantly less than what the mage pays you.

“The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially.”
There's a Revenant also in the Deep Roads (near the darkspawn chokepoint, before going to the Dead Trenches), so that would bring the final sum up to above six. However, the Revenants in the Brecilian forest are related to the Juggernaut armor quest (correct?), so they might not count.

Yes, they don't count. They are indeed related to the Juggernaut armor quest. So with the Deep Roads Revenant that makes them 5. There should be one more.Aqua-chan wrote:There's a Revenant also in the Deep Roads (near the darkspawn chokepoint, before going to the Dead Trenches), so that would bring the final sum up to above six. Similar to the vials, are the scrolls of Banastor. GameBanshee indicates that there are 5 of them, and I have collected them all, but to no quest-related effect...

The Scrolls of Banastor are related to an optional quest your receive from one of the outcast-mage representatives that stand in various towns. The name of the group escapes me. At any rate, the easiest one of them to find is in Denerim, standing near the armor smithy and Goldanna's house.

His grave is in the Ortan Thaig, I think, but the pieces of his blade are scattered throughout the Deep Roads.nocturn wrote:Great.
About the Topsider though, I just went to Orzammar, but I didn't get a quest marker on any Deep Roads location on the Deep Roads map. Does anyone remember the exact level where it lies?
If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do.
Once you have the three parts to the blade, you can find his grave in one of the most eastern caves of the Ortan Thaig, I think.nocturn wrote:I checked another source and it also suggested Ortan thaig.
I have searched Ortan thaig three times. I could not find a highlighted item or quest marker or anything regarding to the quest whatsoever.

I've just gone to Ortan thaig. I went to the east-most cavern and indeed found a tomb-like thing. But, it was not interactive... it didn't show a name when I pressed Tab or anything... I have the quest Marked As Active but I get no quest marker on the map.
I guess it's a map bug...

Do you have all three pieces of the sword and the quest says you should try to find the tomb now that you've assembled the sword?nocturn wrote:I've just gone to Ortan thaig. Oops...
Sorry folks, my bad... I got a third journal update at some point, I assumed it was the third piece.
I found the blade on an Ancient Darkspawn (who wasn't there the first time I visited) in the Dead Trenches. I went to the tomb and finished the quest just fine, quest markers and all.
Thanks.

I have experienced a problem with another quest. It's from the "interested parties", the one where you have to place three dead drop payments in various locations. Two of them worked all right, but the one in Frostback Mountains (outside Orzammar) didn't. When I make the payment, the barrel appears and the quest marker vanishes, but I don't get a quest update. So, when I travel back to the tavern in Denerim there is no option to finish the quest from the bartender.
Anyone else had the same problem?

Since you speak of three dead drops I would assume that you simply missed one of the four.
Just check all of them (if you can't remember which you have done so far):
That should do the trick.

Spoiler
1. Denerim Market Square (near Ignazius if I remember correctly)
2. Redcliffe village (on the "docks" near one of the houses)
3. Calenhad Docks (in the tavern)
4. Frostback Mountains (barrel on the place where all the merchants are)
