Magic attacks, or try silver or daedric weapons. Any sort of enchanted weapon will do too, it doesn't even have to have a charge.

Will o' the wisp

Neither silver claymore nor silver bow and arrows worked. So back to you.

Well, Tricky is right. A silver, daedric or enchanted weapon ought to deal damage to them. Whether that damage is enough to kill them and overcome their draining effects is another question altogether.

You could try an enchanted weapon with a absorb life attribute or perhaps throw in a couple of destruction spells into the midst. I find using custom spells that deal damage over a certain duration coupled with an Invisibility charm often works wonders.

It would help if we knew something about your character, telling us he's a 14th level Redguard doesn't really tell us anything. What class is he/she, what are your attributes, skill levels, and magic capability.

I advise to attack & retreat tactics if you're melee. It casts drain health on you the instant you come in range, but you usualy have a fraction of a second. Otherwise.. find a staff. Bow and magic users have the advantage here.

The mages guild staff, assuming you opted for one that eals in destruction spells or Paralysis would come in useful as Trick sort of suggested. Of course if you made the mistake of obtaining that at low level and don't have the Quest Reward Levelling mod then even that will be virtually useless.

I thought you couldn't paralyze wisps? They should also be immune to poison and silence effects, yes?

Hm.. good point. I don't recall ever having seen a paralyzed wisp.

Me either. I hate Wisps.

A staff is the best bet, but only one enchanted with some sort of Destruction spell. Rindir has a pretty decent staff, if you haven't got one elsewhere, called Apotheosis. It isn't cheap, and only has 12 charges, but I've found it handy.
Best of all is to join the Mage Guild, do the Apprentice quests so you can get into the Arcane University, then the Staff Quest. I always get it enchanted with Shock Damage, since that is good against anything but Storm Atronachs.

Alternatively, as you advance in level and start meeting litches, they often have excellent staffs.

Listen to this man. He will save you time and money.

Also, try to find some Goblin totem staffs. I *think* those aren't levelled drops, so you stand to gain something from them at low level.

Erm, wrong gender Tricky, Fljotsdale is of the femalle persuasion! :D

You guys are dead right about paralysis, the little [expletive deleted] are immune to paralysis, and poison. They also absorb magicka which is why they are such a bane to spell users if they get close.

You're also right Tricky about Goblins staves. There's a good one you can obtain in the goblin mine that's just off the road as you approach Skingrad from the East which isn't too difficult to get. I often stop in and grab it on the way to Kvatch to fetch Martin.

I have found that, having raised my level to 16, and having a Boral Claymore works IF you can get the blighters one by one.

Which is why they frequently show up in groups, especially if you're playing with Martigen's monster mod installed. :D Plus, Vacuity has produced VASE, a new mod that adds many types of wisps who resolve in water into horrible, tentacled beasts. Each has its own strengths and weaknesses. Gives a new meaning to beauty in the countryside at night.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

I still think a staff is best for 'em; even with several attacking at once, a staff that deals a high level destruction blast fixes 'em in no time. As mentioned before, Apotheosis from Rindir (around 5,000 gold) is excellent. It deals 33 fire, 33 frost, and 33 shock damage - a total of 99 damage! Of course, it only has 12 charges, but if you make sure to carry some Varla stones and/or filled soul gems, it can keep you going for quite a while.

I always carry at least 3 staffs, plus bow and one or more blades, whatever class I'm playing. Though the staffs depend on level or cash available!
