So I just recently picked up a the expansion for DSII, having not played since the game first came out. I remember complaining that the game was too EASY, before, but now as I'm trying to get through the first couple missions I keep dying over and over again. It feels like Diablo II on nightmare..
I'm playing a two-handed warrior dryad with that ogre guy you get in the beginning as a tank.. but both me and him just get whacked in a few hits by some of the more elite mobs. I even have really great armor and weapons for my level. I usually never have difficulties in these hack-n-slash games.. what am I doing wrong??
Too hard for a seasoned gamer??

Well actually now that i got past the rough patch it's getting a little easier. Still harder than I remember though. Once I filled up the remaining party slots it got MUCH easier, even without a healer.
The real stupid mistake I was making though was using the little health potions instead of the bigger ones, i just assumed i wouldn't need them till later in the first act.

Warriors in general have limited means of crowd control, you basically have an AoE power or two and that's it. Warriors (and Rangers) are a bit more item-dependent than mages. So yeah, gameplay is gonna be somewhat harder for them early game.
If you craft your own items (to toughen up your character) you might have an easier time tho. Just be careful of spells.
