Hi there fellow gamers,
I am hoping you can shed some light on a problem I have.
My characters are all above level 20 and yet I still haven't been able to access any high level abilities (single class are now on 5,000,000 plus XP and dual class each have 2,500,000 plus XP)
I have read on numerous forums about abilities such as improved alacrity, whirlwind, summon planetar, none of which I have access to.
Could someone please explain to me why this is so, and is there any way to fix it?
Many Thanks
BG2 ToB Ability Problems (Please help!)
A single question.
Do you have "BG2 Tweaks" installed by any chance?
If yes, check if you selected the "delay HLA's" option

uninstall the option "Delay High Level Abilities" from the tweak pack (re-run the instalator, it will be in your BG2 directory. Setup - Tweaks, Setup - G3 Tweaks or something like that, chose "ask about each one" for the ALREADY installed options, and chose "U" on the Delay HLAs option)

Okay, another stupid question: You are looking in the 'Special Abilities' tab yeah? Aside from casting HLAs they only show up in the bit where you get Thief traps and Druid shapechanges etc...Sorry if I'm suggesting the obvious but I haven't heard this one before and that's a pretty major glitch.
On that topic...Are you on Vista? 'Cos BG2 really doesn't like Vista, if you want to run it well you need to install it outside of Program Files - make a new folder in your C drive and label it Games or somesuch. So without knowing much about your setup, if you're on Vista at this point your best bet is to uninstall then reinstall in said location, with the official patches, G3 Fixpack, and G3 Tweakpack (I also recommend Dungeon-Be-Gone) and see if they come in next time you level up. The install order to go for is SoA, SoA Bioware patch, ToB, ToB Bioware Patch, G3 Fixpack, any additional mods you have/want, and lastly the G3 Tweakpack (whichever tweaks you want, though be aware the multi-romance tweak will mess with the game sometimes so you may be better off virtually monogamous).
If not you can add them with Shadowkeeper but it's kinda tricky.
If that doesn't fix it then I'm out of ideas.
