Minsc attacking Keldorn in the Underdark?

Post by trog69 »

In the last two battles I've had in the Underdark, I caught Minsc attacking Keldorn! Is this broken, or is one of them not compatible in this area?

Was Minsc 'confused' or 'dire charmed' at the time?

I know certain enemies down there feature those kind of mental attacks frequently.

Next time you see it, click on Minc's profile to see if he is under the effects of any spell.

Or simply beserk. He gets that way, and will attack the nearest person.

Erm... Isn't that sort of a redundant question? :p

Anyway, Fable is right. I've sometimes had Minsc attacking party members in his bersek phase, especially if "his witch" is under fire.

Minsc's headwound rage really does send him uncontrollably berserk, so when he enters combat he'll attack any person or creature (except maybe his witch, I forget this one) within visual range. It's great fun when you have a large group of low-level enemies in dungeons, but less fun when he attacks fellow party members or goes nuts on innocent civilians.

Berserker rrrrrrrraaaage!!

It hasn't happened since, and we've done quite a bit of slaughter, so I agree, it most probably was the berserker rage. Wow, he hit Keldorn twice, and the red was almost 2/3rds of the way to the top of his portrait! hehehe.

Thanks for the help.

Just do not let him go Zerk...

I love him, at least he is pleasant and nice- in contrast to other NPCs. I find the worst is one of my tanks (including PC) getting Dire Charmed.

Dire charmed sucks but it gives you immunity from damage as the baddies will stop attacking you and dealing damage while you are helpless to respond.

I find getting HELD/diseased by super hasted greater ghouls (while standing in acid) is pretty much instant death unless your party is right there to assist with a concentrated pummeling.

Much worse!!! :(

Dire Charming suckes big time especially when it happens at the wrong time. Minsc is however partially immune to it so he can be very useful in such situations

In my games Minsc too often gets DC-ed, only when berserk is he immune, and that is as bad..
