Most funny moments in ME2? (SPOILERS!)

Post by GawainBS »

Once more: Heavy, heavy, superheavy spoilers to be expected!

Overall, I'd go with the conversations between Joker & EDI.
"Oh, Joker was such a tool. I have to spend the whole day computing pi because he plugged in the Overlord." Later on, when EDI says he has to crawl through the vents. "I like watching humans on their knees, Mr. Morreau." *Joker stands stupified.* "That was a joke, Mr. Morreau."

Talli and Garrus in the Citadel, reminescing about the elevator rides.

Finally, a lot of the funny stuff was in the background conversations, like the man & woman you helped decide on gene therapy for the woman's child. "What are we going to buy?" "Maybe I should ask some random stranger walking by." Or the Turian who's making a pass at the Quarrian in the Eternity bar on Illium. "You're better off with someone else, someone who you can share your food with."

Feel free to add. :)

The existence of a Space Hamster. That bought a laugh out for me.

Also Joker's "conflict" with EDI and when EDI "jokes" back stood out for me.

A real moment that had me almost out of my chair laughing is Mordin singing his own rendition of Gilbert and Sullivan... superb! A lot of the background conversation are very good as well, the Batchelor Party for instance... almost everything going on in the bar in Illium is funny, the half Krogan Matriarch barkeeper has some truly great lines...

possible spoilers

In no particular order:
1) When Tali says "I have a shotgun" while on the Citadel, which GawainBS referred to.
2) The drugged up volus who thinks he's a god.
3) The asari matriarch bartender who says "Sorry, no sex. I just cleaned the bar" with a straight face.

In the bar on Illium, a human, a quarian, and a turian are having a bachelor party with an asari dancer. I was laughing my ass off.

Mordins conversation/sex advice if the PC is romancing Tali is great.

Just got past that part yesterday, got some good enjoyment out it. Especially since it had "a knowing smile".

My favorite (unmentioned above) part is when you meet the reporter (Khalisah bint Sinan al-Jilani, Westerlund news) on the Citadel again. For me, I played as a Paragon character but I really just had to hit her :D Shepherd's remarks are probably the best part of it all too, "I've had enough of your disingenuous assertions" as opposed to in the first game he says something like "I've had enough of your snide insinuations", and after he punches her he says something like "I wish I'd done that the first time we met"

Dead linked.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

I'll agree with Darth Gavinius on this one.

I really enjoyed Mordin's singing.

My personal favorite is the Renegade prompt on Tuchanka while you're doing Grunt's loyalty mission. My Shepard had earlier watched Wrex knock another krogan into line by headbutting him. Later, when that same krogan started getting uppity at Shepard, my dainty little femme commander just leans back and wham! Slams her forehead into the big, hulking krogan's. It was amazing. :D

Tali, when she sends out her combat drone: "Go for the optics! Go for the optics!" Which is an unsubtle nod to the classic line, "Go for the eyes". ;)

If you play the game correctly, you can actually bring (Spoilers!)
Spoiler
Legion
when you catch up with Tali the second time. She is not receptive to its presence. :D

Those 2 are my favorite, I always take a trip down there to see what they are talking about.

When Gabby says the cook was staring to turn out some good meals, Donally says, " He couldn't make a good haggis if his life depended on it" Gabby Says, But haggis tastes like ass anyway" "Ah sure but in the right hands it can taste like mighty fine ass!"

A legitimate spit-take moment - I was sure I had misheard, at first! :)

I've got to give some love to Mordin's "Hold the line!" reference / shooting Conrad Verner in the foot, too. :D
I sincerely wish we could re-consider this plan from a perspective that involved pants.

Shepard tells the detective on Ilium she shouldn't feel compelled to follow orders that are likely to get her killed, and Jack says something like "I'll remember that the next time you send us on a suicide mission". The detective asks "he really does that"? and Garrus says, "at least twice a day".

In the Shadow Broker DLC, the squad comes to a door that only Liara can hack, and Shepard says something like "I miss the old days when you could open anything just by slapping some omni-gel on it" and Liary replies, "yes, many people were upset when they fixed that security problem".
Can the answer to this question be "No"?

Tali has a few Baldur's Gate References, as well as "Go for the Optics" she also says, "Nothing moves faster than Chikitka Vas Pause", close to Aerie's "Nothing moves faster than Chiktika Fast Paws!"
