Edar:

I haven't killed Minsc. I left him at the Copper Coronet. I didn't have the heart to do it. But I know if I kept him, he would suddenly go berserk on Edwin in the middle of a ginormous battle with 12 level-draining vampires. The guy is plain nuts.

But this should make you happy. I kicked Jaheira out of my party very quickly. I dealt with her curse and cut her loose. Of course she waits for you outside of the Harper compound...which gave me a stellar idea. In none of my previous games have I ever sacked the Harpers and slain everything inside. I guess I always feared Elminster would jump out of the closet and smote me. I was also afraid of those entities upstairs. No idea what they are or what their powers are. So I took a chance and left none alive. (Now here's the good part) When I left after clearing/looting the compound, there was Jaheira with a big, beautiful red circle under her!!!! I was free to slaughter her mercilessly from a rp'ing standpoint and oh boy...slaughter I did do. She took a mace to the skull and her face exploded like a cantelope. Edwin then gutted her with Neb's nasty dagger. Jan thought her stomach looked like a prize-sized turnip his uncle Nester grew 3 seasons ago before being turned into a hummingbird and subsequently swallowed by a griffin. But that's another story.

Ode:

I knew I should have stayed away from this thread. You've definitely put me on track to find the Blade. You totally spoiled it but I know you were just trying to help and I certainly appreciate the gesture. Edar was much more cryptic. In fact he was so damn cryptic that I *still* don't see the hint he claims to have embedded into his post

Thanks fellas. some good folk here for sure.

You will see when you find him. Poor you with us constantly spoiling you ;-)

But why keep the arrogant and evil bastard when you can have other as powerful or more and still have good old Minsc in your party? I dislike Edwin, he is an evil arrogant bastard and a Red Wizard of Thay (of course, not knowing Faerun you have no idea what I am talking about).

Read Wiki here, or Forgotten Realms Wiki here.

I must admit I dislike the AD & D world of Abeir-Toril as depicted and changed to fit the 4th edition rules. When I occasionally send people to Abeir-Toril I use RM rules and 3-3.5 edition of the world.

I am glad you did Jah in though, warms my heart. I usually kick her and leave her alone as I do not mistreat women (even her when she just leaves me alone), but then I also usually do not mess with those idiot harpers. That quest/mission is the single one I find ridiculous, so I just let them harp and interfere and get on with my own business.

Fable, how can posts in a thread named "Oh my God" in a BG-SOA Forum be OT? As long as the thread is about BG-SOA it should be On Topic, for the topic is "Oh my God"...

What with the original thread being about whether anyone has rolled a 100 and it now being about how to find Haer'Dalis in a non-spoileriffic way, I'd be going with the off-topic call here. Ironically sidetracked threads like this were why GB SYM started in the first place...*rambles off to a pub thread*
Apologies @RPGguy, I tried my best to be obtuse and made sure you at least got a free pair of boots. :)

No need to apologize Ode. Like I said, one cannot fault you for having good intentions.

I find the the idea of a squirrel going up against a pit fiend extremely funny.

Potions of Insight and/or summoned skeleton warriors will do you fine.

Hiding behind ur skellies can still work, if you dont mind leaving your manhood at the door :D Lol just playin.

Boots of Speed, too. Draw the mind spells, and outrun them, while the skeletons pound on them.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

willsanders84 wrote:So that was more time wasted. You know what else annoys me? That to cast lvl 9 spells you have to have Edwin. I don't want Edwin. Anyway, at least I've given up on the rolling... that was an addiction.
They have not implemented that rule from the 2e PnP rules. Any mage can cast 9th level spells when they reach the proper level.
