I agree, it is pretty sad no one wants to do this, yet I am as guilty as anyone.
I don't know why I am not jumping at this. I guess I just love the total control element that BG2 provides and am not willing to give any of that up.
Sorry bud. I really hope you do get it going.

The main problem with multiplayer is - everyone can UNpause, the main characters death still means wipe, versions (and mods) need to be exactly the same or some stuff will be missing (or errors occuring) and the vanilla game turns too easy.
Anyway.. I'd be interested in an SCS2 + tactics + improved asylum multiplayer run on hardest difficulty (doing them for quite some time)

I've played the multiplayer game only once, with a friend. I posted before about these things but will state the same again.
He did all the fighter/thief parts. He had a Fighter/Thief, A Paladin and a Ranger. I took care of all the magic, except the ranger ofcourse with an Illusionist/Cleric, a Conjurer and a Cleric of Helm. This way you both control an essential part of the game. We played without any mods and on the hardest difficulty. In my opinion this is the only way to play multiplayer with a full party with only 2 or more people. The only other version I could see happening is the version with six people and all 1 character but that would be very hard to accieve.

Wrong way to do it IMO. Have your weakest guy (a spellcaster) as the host as he is the one who will be out of harm's way most of the time. Spellcasters can also cast a whack of spells (or use magic items) to make him/her immune, invisible, protected to keep the 'host' alive.StJimmy2000 wrote:so just make whoever the toughest person is to be the host.
Making a meatshield the host is a bad idea. "Toughest" is not nearly as important as having better saves, or more speed or immunities.

Another upside is the magical Rod of Resurrection, the most overpowered item in the game. Stay out of battle and use the rod o bring back everyone who dies.RPGguy wrote:Wrong way to do it IMO. And I might be willing to try it out. What type of character do you need?

well i have yet to get anyone thats willing to sit down and play a game through. so pretty much whatever you want to since i can play just about any class (not cleric though). im convincing my two cousins to join in whom are in their 20's so its not like we'll have any 8 y/o's in there not knowing what to do. we all have good knowledge of the game and know a lot of tricks in it too. i dont know what kind of classes they would like to play, but one of them is like me and can play just about anything.
