I'm having trouble playing ME2 as the requirements is way to high for my old computer. ME1 worked prefectly and Bioware's other huge game Dragon Age, runs silky smooth, but this wasn't even possible to start at first. I managed to find a patch that removed the dual core requirement and that helped a lot, but the fps is still way too low. I've turned everything off, but still it's pretty unplayable. It's sad that a game series can get ruined by such bad programming. Making it easy on the computer isn't difficult at all if you only want too, Bioware has proved this them self with Dragon Age. I have an old computer, but most other games run fine. With the economy being as it is I don't see how I can afford a new computer for at least another six months if I'm lucky.
Does anybody know if this game can be hacked and certain graphic heavy elements removed from some .ini file or something similar? I've done this on occation earlier (Fallout 3) and it made a huge differense in how the game ran. But I'd need a guide for this as I have no idea about what does what. I figure that there's plenty of other people who has the same problems with ME2.

Hmm - I don't even know what the requirements are, but make absolutely sure you've turned down all AA and AF settings. Shadow settings if possible should also be turned down.
Try running a lower resolution as well.
Other then that I have no real idea, but will try to look into the settings and .ini file(s) to see if I can spot something.
