For starters I'd like to point out that I do have a rogue stone (the one from the guarded compund in the temple district). When I try to enter the twisted rune building, I get the message:
"You open the door and peer through but see nothing. There is no room, no house just emptiness, darkness. It's a bizzare thing to behold. You do not know what would happen if you stepped through."
Now, I'm assuming that after I get this message, I should be able to enter the building normally? Yet every time I click on the doorway to enter the building I get the same message, but nothing happens. I have the rogue stone in my inventory, not in a container. My entire party is right next to the entrance, so that shouldn't be an issue either.
I certainly hope that I'm missing something, as my protagonist is a fighter/mage (dual-spec), and he's got 5 points in staffs, so if I wont be able to get the staff of magi I'll get really discouraged. :/
EDIT: I've got tactics mod installed, but that shouldn't be an issue, right?
Unable to enter the twisted rune compound
Never heard of this before. Some basic suggestions (don't get mad)
1. Is the person clicking on the door the one with the actual Rogue Stone in his/her inventory?
2. Did you accidentally enter the Rune earlier, before being prepared, and then run out? Wondering if you only get one shot at it and you blew it.
3. You have the right door for certain? I know, I know...I just thought I'd mention it

1. Yes, I've tried that also.RPGguy wrote:Never heard of this before. Some basic suggestions (don't get mad)

2. I had unlocked the door earlier on, but I'm certain I didn't enter.
3. I have never done the twisted run encounter before, as frankly I didn't know he existed, so I suppose I'm not 100% sure. However, I can't think of any other place it could be. I read that the entrance to the twisted rune is in the same building as the entrance to the elemental lich (which I already killed), and considering there are only 2 doors in that building, I'm not sure where else it could be, unless I'm simply missinformed.
EDIT: Ok, I figured it out. Apparently the rogue stone from the guarded compund wasn't able to open the door, but when I bought a regular one from an npc and then tried again, it did work. It's still odd though, as the rogue stone from the guarded compund even has a description that hints that it could be used in the bridge district.
EDIT2: Twisted rune down on first try. Didn't expect it to be that straight forward with tactics mod installed. Too bad, as I would clearly not have had to leave this encounter to one of the last in soa. :S
Glad it all worked out for ya.
Here's the thing about the Twisted Rune...or anything else in the game. When you know it's coming, it's not that bad.
Just think about all the suckas (like me) who clicked into that area the first time playing and perished utterly by being caught totally off guard. Haha, good times.
