OK, While I'm not a fan of the DLC's I have bought them all thusfar and I really enjoyed the Return to Ostragar. It wasn't as intense as I thought it would be but the journey through the zone was very interesting.
I was especially happy to see Spoiler
the part where the Ogre was resurrected and you get to kill it again; the same one that killed the King originally.
Also, when you are going from one zone to the next and Spoiler
the cutaway to the King up on the spike happened.
I certainly wasn't expecting that one.
All in all a good piece of the game; a couple of good weapons too: Spoiler
you can get Duncan's sword and dagger from the Ogre and the Kings armor and sword.
I would have liked it better if any of the battles had been even halfway difficult. As it is, I found it a little on the dull side.
SWC
Sir Edmund:"Should you obey the lord who asks you to put a village of innocents to the torch? Is that chivalrous? Is it noble?" Me:"It's a great way to get promoted, I know that much."
Some of those battles can pose a challenge for a solo character, but overall, I didn't think that they were terribly fun. It was nice to revisit Ostagar to see what happened after the battle, but there isn't as much "lore" to discover as one might have hoped. I thought that it was longer than Warden's Keep, but that doesn't really mean anything.
As for items you discover - I think they're best acquired early on, before they can be replaced by better equipment. On the other side, the sword and shield set adds enough mana regeneration to be combined with other items to completely offset the Arcane Warrior's Shimmering Shield ability.
