Is it too much to have Minsc wield both of these weapons?

Post by xCherryXSherryx »

I have PC (cleric mage), Minsc, Keldorn, Korgan, Viconia, and Edwin in my party. I have Keldorn wielding Carsomyr, Korgan wielding Usono's blade and battle axe +3 stonefire. And I have Minsc wielding both the flail of ages and crom faeyr haha. Should I give crom faeyr to Korgan or is it fine having Minsc hold the 2 best weapons in the game (or close to it)? :P

Cool party. Surprised one of those people hasn't killed the other yet though.

Arm people with types of weapons they have proficiency points in. How have you been allocating those points? You don't get many proficiency points throughout the game so you have to apply them wisely. I don't remember what Minsc starts with but I don't remember him having proficiency with war hammers or flails. I seem to remember him having prof. with 2-handed swords, the long bow and a couple of others.

So ya, I would be giving those blunt weapons to NPCs who can't used edged weapons being your clerics (your PC and Viconia)

Haha yeah, if I didn't download the happy NPC mod (>_>) it would just be me and Edwin. And I think I added proficiency points in war hammer and flail, although he's not very proficient in either (only 1 point in each). And also all my mages and clerics just stand on the sidelines and summon/bless/buff/heal. I learned the hard way that you should never put a mage on the front lines. xD

Just wait...

ToB
Minsc dualling Axe of The Unyielding and Crom Faeryr.

A certain badass fighter you meet in ToB wielding the Silver Blade.

Heads will fly left and right...

Minsc equipped as such with the Balderan armor and helm and boots of speed and gauntlets of dexterity was the single greatest killing machine I have yet come up with. I also had him with the mace of disruption to substitute for the axe in case some undead were around. I'd just point him in the general direction of people/things I wanted dead berserk him and stand back. It was a thing of beauty.
Take heart fellow adventurers, for you have curried the favor of Boo, The only miniature giant space hamster in the Realm.

It might be worth your using Shadowkeeper to move his proficiencies around a bit, but otherwise Minsc is fine with that combo. The only other character who could possibly use CF as well/better is Korgan, and he's better off with axes in the main hand anyway. I am kinda curious though - you've given him both of the best cleric-capable weapons in the game, what's Viconia decked out with?
Personally, for maximum hit-ness I'd equip him with Belm or Kundane in the off hand, and give the other of the two to Korgan as offhand weapons - that +1 attack per round is pretty handy.
