Hehe - my own prevention is just to not become sick. That solves most issues ..

You have a "super hero's" control over such things, do you? :D

Actually, I know what you mean.. I take quite a lot of stuff that tends to prevent colds and flus.

I'm just so tired of the hysteria over H1N1...

I'll be checking statistics come spring. 3-1 says that the regular flu will cause more harm than this "super flu". A good win for the media, lots of sensationalism, very little work. See flying saucer balloon story for more on that.

This flu is like a shark attack. It happens a couple of times, gets some media sensation, and suddenly there's an epidemic and no one wants to go in the water anymore.

Here's how you prevent it: Wash your hands thoroughly, especially before you eat or touch your face. The body is very powerful when it comes to fighting off illness, but if you wallow in filth then there's nothing your immune system can do.

All kidding aside, I heard that shortly after coming into contact with an H1N1 sufferer, breathe in steam through your nose as a safety measure - makes conditions unfavorable for our viral friends "Survival" (in quotations since they're non-living). At least that's what my mom's friend the RN said...She also said that there are a lot of people who are tested for it and have it, but are told otherwise. Earlier in October there were at least 11 cases that came through the door daily. But, yeah, it was an epidemic alright, but a "Super-Flu". Definitely not. My Bassist contracted it and was still able to play shows unhindered. I didn't even catch it from him. I caught everything else this year...But not H1N1.

Not to knock any of the posts here, as such... ;)

But, in case anybody missed it, I actually didn't intend this as a serious thread, but rather, as a sarcastic jab at the excessive hysteria and media fumbling involved with swine flu... :p

Anyway...
carry on.. :D

If we're going to use fire, I'd rather dig pits on a beach somewhere and slowly roast em.... :p
Add maybe a few vodka-infused watermelons, and we'd be all set.

If gin was an acceptable remedy for the bubonic plague, I'm all for vodka becoming the modern-day counterpart to the flu! :D
I sincerely wish we could re-consider this plan from a perspective that involved pants.

Hm, last time I said a joke like that, I almost got lynched. Still worth it though...
