Jam Qiest Reward *Spoiler*

What is the amulet you get from killing the Giths... I didnt get one, I am wondering if it is the Greenstone Amulet. If not, does anyone know the code to get it... I never got anything from killing them.

Neither did I. Apparently it's some kind of amulet that protects against psi attacks. If so, I would consider that kind of item as cheesy as the Shield of Balduran and I'm glad they removed it from the game.

There's no need to wait for someone to come and tell you how to use cheat codes to gain items (or for them to waste the keystrokes).

Just google 'CLUA console' and you're on your way. There's a million how-to's on the topic. Have fun.

shield of Balderan

I admit it is complete cheese, but facing 5 beholders at once is a bit much for anyone. As a DM I would NEVER do that to a party...unless they were in the high teens

Agree, 6 beholders and 4 gauths (in that one area you are referring to) is impossible without cheese. Each orb with 6-10 (?) magical attacks from every school per round. Death, Paralyze, Imprisonment, Anti-Magic Rays, Lightning, Cause Serious Wounds...nasty. Buffs and spell shields are useless after a few short seconds against that number

As a DM, you would never do that to anyone and as a pure role player, you would take your party and get the hell out of there. No way you would even attempt to clear those caverns.

There is no quest that makes taking on that beholder den necessary. Heck, you don't even have to go in there as you can use the elder brain or Koa-Tua blood instead.

But I think the psi neckless you are asking about is more to protect against the illithids (which is why the gith carry it as their racial, mortal enemy)

It isn't a reward as such but hidden treasure; it is concealed in a hole in the wall of the complex, you have to search for it.

It definitely isn't cheesy in the least, it has finite charges and doesn't protect you from the Illithid's most feared attack at all, it just protects one character from being charmed or dominated or mind blasted.

You're talking about the amulet in the beholder lair (Underdark). I think the OP is talking about something the Gith are supposed to drop as loot when you do that quest for The Hidden.

The reward

I don't use Jan, I always play a thief, and never really liked Multi class characters, they go up too slowly.

I am playing it again, with Jan... trying to get his quest line to pop up... but he wont do it. I am passing alot of time running around to burn days and days... but would like to continue to something else...

I admit I was/am somewhat confused. The only place I know of where there is a Greenstone Amulet that gives you protection from Mental attacks in SoA is in the Beholder lair in the Underdark.

The Githyankees that you have to kill in the Five Flagons certainly don't drop it, and never have in my experience. If that has ever happened to anyone I'd strongly suspect it was the result of using a third party mod.

the amulet

Place I found it was this website, under Quests for Jan. I have never seen it, so I wanted to get it. I like working through a game I have finished to get everything I can, and work out all the little secrets in it. ;)
