Finished the game, but - in retrospect - am unhappy with some crafting and feat selection choices that I made.
I am a multi-classed Monk character, and began with an eye towards an unarmed combat build, but prefer dual kama now that I can craft some pretty wicked kamas. I can jump back to an earlier saved game and replay about the last half to re-orient my character if need be.
I plan to move on to the Mask of the Betrayer, and wonder whether any of my equipment will go with me. I also have a fair amount of gold, gems and essences (and near 200K in Crossroad Keep's coffers), not sure if any of those transfer over either.
If I am less than thrilled with some of my choices, might I simply be better off generating a new character for MotB as opposed to replaying Acts II and III? If I can keep my equipment, et al, I would go the replay route.

You'll need to specifically export your character.. usually after finishing off the "clones".ZebV wrote:Finished the game, but - in retrospect - am unhappy with some crafting and feat selection choices that I made.

Only items that you *wear* will be available in MOTB (..not weapons). The crafting system changes in MOTB (..see thievesguild.net). All other gold/items go "bye, bye".
It probably isn't worth replay to change skill crafting.
Well then, so much for the fancy kamas I have crafted.Scottg wrote:You'll need to specifically export your character.. usually after finishing off the "clones".

As for items that are worn; must they be equipped? I have a couple different Monk gloves, and some decent bracers. Similarly, more than two helpful rings that I switch out as need be.
If only equipped items transfer, I'll need to put some thought into what I have equipped when I export my character. Hmm.
Only equipped. Choose wisely. I'd probably choose *2* rings of regen for a dual-weild kama monk.ZebV wrote:Well then, so much for the fancy kamas I have crafted.

Note that at the start of MOTB you'll have no kamas available. (..though it isn't particularly difficult.)
Moderately soon after however you should have access to full crafting, and the damage you can craft goes up in MOTB.
I'm in agreement on the regen rings, along with the vampiric regen in one of the kamas, they provided a nice boost.Scottg wrote:Only equipped. Choose wisely. I'd probably choose *2* rings of regen for a dual-weild kama monk.

The dilemma to me becomes +8 Bracers vs. +5 Gloves. Bracers of Armor and robes (at least the Sun Soul variety) don't stack, and gloves only affected unarmed combat, so by the end I was wearing bracers and no robes or armor of any kind (same for Neeshka - now, that was a surprise).
I think I'll hang on to the +8 Bracers and hope to buy some decent gloves down the road, in case I'm in the mood for unarmed combat.
