OK, I'm level one after restarting. No leveling mod as that was screwing me up.
My bar shows about halfway on readiness for next level so I am hitting up trainers to try to finish to reach level 2. However, two minors and one major that I've tried to train all show Maxed out for Current Level. What else can I do to level up? If I can't progress any more on these skills at level 1... then I'm kind of lost on what else to do to level up.
Training Issue

Why do you want to level up? Please don't mind my question. Most players try to prevent leveling, which automatically scales up all creatures--usually with 5x in strength and endurance.

Well, I've done several dungeon crawls, completed the Thieves Guild quests all the way through and was stymied when my rewards were not what was discussed in threads and the Wiki due to my level so I need to level up some..lol.
Got to level 2 finally but another issue has cropped up. I am using Mysticism as a minor skill but don't even have the skill level to cast soul trap. I did a search and went to the Wiki as well and saw the spell sellers and trainers for Mysticism. However, when I go to the four mage guilds noted (Chorral, Skingrad, Bravil, Leyawin) none of the NPCs show training ability for Mysticism and the ones that are supposed to sell the lower level spells do not have a sales option come up. I even tried to talk/bribe them up to 100 to see if that may have something to do with it.
Now, I did join the MG early on to get a spell (waterbreathing) that comes with one of the recommendation quests. I haven't done that quest, and did finish the TG quests where I am kicked from the MG for killing a mage. However, I find it strange that I can find the Destruction trainer and other trainers but not for Mysticism. Same with spells, even the MG people will sell spells to me but not what I'm looking for.
Any suggestions?

Well Druja in the Skingrad Mage's guild should offer training; I just ran a test and got myself kicked out of the guild, and she still was willing to train me. So, if she won't train you, and it's between the hours of 9am and Noon, or 3pm and 6pm, then you have a bug. If that's the case I suspect some mod you're running is the cause.

Figures..I'll double check the times. Thanks for the name so I can ensure I talk to the right person. None of the Guild Leaders would talk to me, they said I was expelled and needed to talk to the guy at the AU.
I did find a Detect Life spell. That Wiki is wrong more often than not..lol. It said to go to Mystic's Emporium in the Market District. He didn't have it, found it at Edgar's Discount Spells though, but I need to find the training so I can use Soul Trap.

Well if you have Minor Detect Life you can train yourself so to speak. Turning absorbtion spells into Mysiticism spells (as they should be) helps as well.
Talk to Raminus or whatever his name is at the Uni and get working on getting readmitted to the guild, it only requires collecting 20 of each of two ingredients, and if you wanted you could use the console to cheat those iinto your inventory.
For murder it's usually 20 Vampire Dusts (00009182) and Daedra Hearts (0001EC8F)

There's a little COBL mod, as I recall, that puts a small object in your inventory, without weight. When you click on it, it automatically looks for all leveling items you've got, and upgrades them according to your current level. Interested?Ragin Cajun wrote:Well, I've done several dungeon crawls, completed the Thieves Guild quests all the way through and was stymied when my rewards were not what was discussed in threads and the Wiki due to my level so I need to level up some..lol.
