Levitation problems

Post by mewp »

i JSUT STARTED PLAYING ABOAUT A WEEK AGO. i FINISHED THE GAME WHAT 8 YEARS AGO AND SINCE i HAD RUN OUT OF NEW GAMES i THOUGHT i WOULD GO BACK TO THIS. Sorry about the caps. Anyway I have joined the mages and the fighters. I am to the point where to do a quest I need to levitate. I have killed everything in sight and am a level 12. But I do not have enough magic points to cast levitate. I do not remember it taking this long to do that. I need 45 points and only have 44. I cannot do any more quests for these factions without it. Am I doing something wrong?

Firstly; remember skill in Alteration lowers the cost of casting the spell, and you total magicka is defined by your intelligence and magicka multiplyer. If you're a human then your multiplyer is 2, i.e. two spell points per point of intelligence. So with 22 inteligence you'd have 44 magicka. Your birthsign can improve this if it is either The MAge, Apprentice or Atronach. Typiclly for a mage you'd select either High-Elf (Altmer) or Breton with Mage or apprentice as the birthsign.

You can always make a cheap spell by going to a spell maker and making one that has magnitude 1 and duration of 11 seconds, it should cost 1 point of magicka to cast. Slow, and you'll have to keep recasting it, but it should o the trick.

Alternatively of course make or purchase potions of levitation.

Due respect to galraen, one can also make his own potions of levitation. One just need to gather trama roots, cliff racer plumes or coda flowers. The first two ingredients are already sufficient and are quite abundant in the game.

I lucked out and found a dagger that levitates you. Takes a ton of power but replaces it itself. Have found things much easier.
