[I reach out to touch the wall, to see if I am dealing with illusion. If the wall is material, then I suspect there must be a pressure plate of some sort above. I do not say anything but instead wait for Khannon to complete his investigation. I pay special attention to his movements and try to see if there is any relationship between those movements and the sound of the rumbling as it starts up again]

Khannon & Rhag'nuul
Khannon follows silently behind Rhag'nuul to inspect the noise but only see the staircase leading to the dead end.
Rhag'nuul begins to touch the wall to see if it's an illusion, which it deosn't seem to be, if it is, it's magic is so powerful it can fool your tactile senses as well. Perhaps it's a forcefield with the illusion of a wall in place... But if so why did you manage to see throught the wall just mere moments ago?
Rhag'nuul let's Khannon investigate the area, but Khannon doesn't quiet understand what they're supposed to be looking for with the dead end.
After a few minutes of examining the wall, the rumbling begins again and the wall at the end of the dead end stairs begins to shift to the right and slowly a staircase slides in from the left hand side of the dead end and completes the stair case.
So the two of you travel in an easternly direction until you get to a road, Frederick pauses, "If we follow this road either to the south or north we'll reach a town eventually, and I'm pretty sure both of us can take on any bandits that prey the streets, but if you want we can continue onward to the east and perhaps we'll come across a village eventually that way.

Frederick agrees that it sounds pretty good, but isn't too sure where Blackoak forest is located to the east of the western mountains, but outside of that he's not too sure where it is exactly. He figured he'd stop by a local town and ask for directions.Shaggypichu wrote:"Well Frederick. The green Knight is an interesting one. shall we go see what this is about? I stop and pause for a second thinking. "Lets go south. I agree with you Frederick. Hopefully we won't run into too many."
and i'll ask Frederick the questions about the Green Knight now. What are his tactics and fighting skills?

I dash straight at the newly formed staircase, assuming that the rumbling is the constant shifting of it from dead end to pathway.

Sorry about the delay was super busy today, was working at school and at my job from 9:00 until 7:00
Jarrackt
You begin to travel south down the road you discuss with Frederick about the green knight's tactics.
"Well Jarrackt," Frederick begins, "The Green Knight of the forest is supposed to be some sort of spirit of the forest, no one really knows how or why the knight exists, but what people do know is that if you wander through the forest and you're a true knight the Green Knight will appear and challenge you to a duel. I think anyone that's ever gone against the knight has lost..."
The two of you ponder this for awhile, "I guess the first step to figuring out whether he has weaknesses or not would be to find other knights who have battled the green knight before. Do you suppose there's a reward for winning a duel against the Green Knight? Do you think he even takes pupils?"
But before you can answer these questions you see a wagon ahead of you. It's being pulled by two oxen and an old man since it appears that one of the back wheels have gotten stuck in a muddy rut in the road.

DM out of game pro-tip: The vaults, as you may have guessed, are very elaborate dungeons with plenty of traps, secret doors, winding corridors, bizarre features and other things of the like. It is because of this that I strongly recommend that either one of you or both of you begins drawing out a map. Grid paper will work great, but any paper or program is fine. Also ask tons of questions if anything feels unclear.
The two of you dash down the stairs as the shift into place, as you make it midway the stop shifting and it allows you to traverse the small stairway more effeciently.
As you reach the last few stairs the right enclosement on the right is removed and you find yourself against the northernmost wall of a room which is cube-like in shape appearing to be roughly 30 by 30 by 30. The room itself it mostly made of a drab stonework that is held firmly in place with mortar. The room itself looks like it may have been an armory at some point with an empty weapon rack and two toppled over mannequins where armour may have once been placed on at the southern end of the room. Entering the room you notice that the north western corner of the room has a 10 foot outcropping in behind the stairs all walled off with the stairs set up right against it.
At the western wall in between the 10ft outcropping in the northwest and 10 ft wall starting between the south west corner northward, there is a giant 10 ft wide archway leading to the west that has a bearded face of an agry wizard or wind god of some sort staring you down as the decoration of the keystone.
To the East of the room in the centre of the eastern wall there is another 10 ft wide archway with the same keystone design.

I can try and make a map but to be perfectly honest-
This is the best I've got so far off of what you've said. Grey staircase is the dead end area, red is the area we just went through. It's probably totally wrong though.

No problem I'll try to keep clarifying, Personally it is abit easier if I maybe drew the maps and gave it to you guys, but I feel like it takes out part of the fun. So I'll just keep trying to describe the area, hopefully with more clarity. If it begins to become a huge issue I'll draw them.Siberys wrote:I can try and make a map but to be perfectly honest-

Khannon takes a second look a the room this time from the centre. The room is mostly cube shaped except, at the northern end starting from the western side the wall rather than having a regular corner has a section a 10 by 10 foot corner where the brickwork protrudes out rather than sinks into the corner.
Best described if the room was a 3x3 grid.
The section in the northwestern area of the grid would be all wall compared to the rest of the of the 8 squares which would be flat floor.
To the direct West , just one square south of the north west outcropping there is a doorway.
To the direct East across the room from that archway is another similar archway leading to another room.
To the direct north of you there are the stairs you came down pressed up against the wall, the last step of the stairs connects with the floor in the north eastern most of the room.
The stairs have what appears to be solid brick support under them, as opposed to being hollowed out or floating stairs, because of this the brickwork that supports the stair of the north interlocks with the outcropping in the north eastern square.
I hope that all made sense, if not I'll find yet another way to describe it. And trust me I really appreciate knowing whether it helps or not since I'm always looking to improve my DM'ing skills.
The three most southern squares of the grid are occupied by the mannequins and the empty weapon rack.
Jarrackt
You try looking for a place to hook in your 10 ft chain to help pull the wagon out of the mud, but can't find a tree close enough. Frederick does find a Large enough boulder nearby the trail that you could try and use, but is not to sure how to hook the iron chain around the boulder and what part of the waggon the two of you should use to pull it out with.

You search the front of the wagon and find it to be far to rickety to safely attach the chain, you would be more likely to break off the wagon's front end than pull it with the chain... You might be stuck pushing it from behind unless you can think of something else.Shaggypichu wrote:"Fredrick you think we can hook the chain up the the front of the wagon somewhere and use the rock as leverage for use to pull it out?"
As im asking Frederick i'll take a look at the front and under the front of the wagon.
search roll 19+1 INT= 20
You examine the back wheel which appears to be stuck in a rut, the solid earth behind it slops down naturally before suddenly spiking up high enough to stop the wheel from rolling over the mini-chasm It seems to be a rock in the way that caused the sudden shift in elevation.
Frederick suggests that if you decide to push it maybe you should consider pushing the wagon in a rocking motion perhaps.

I too had trouble with your descriptions nicolas. please let us try to map it out on our own rather than you drawing it for us.
But when you are describing areas, shorter sentences...with more use of periods for punctuation might help.
Will provide my own map to you based on what you've described thus far and you can verify. I'll need some time first.

The three of you begin to rock the wagon, at first it doesn't seem like anything will happen but then Frederick gives such a fantastic thrust that the entire wagon makes it past the hump.
The wipes the sweat off his brow and looks at the two of you. "Thanks alot gentlemen, I don't have much in the way to repay you, but if you're heading south I can definitely give you guys a ride. I'm heading toward the village of Yaldrock, nice place well outside of the orcish occupation but really they're not too bad in this area compared to of villages on the sand belt... Sorry I tend to ramble, so do you want a ride or will you be on your way?"
