Modding a class: Kensai/Assassin. Is it possible?
I can't do it with shadow keeper. If I select the kit Assassin, it changes the 2nd kit.
If I select Kensai, it changes the 1st kit.
Anyone got an idea on how to actually make it say Kensai/Assassin, and make it work good?

Yea only one kit is allowed. However if you do a dual class, level up as a kensai then dual and change your kit to assassin it should work. You have to set your thief level to zero so that the game gives you your assassin bonuses when you level up and set your thief skills to 25 total so after leveling up you will have 40 (I think), lvl 1 thief should have 40 thief points so make sure its right. Wont show you as a kensai anymore but all the kensai affects will still be there. Haven't tried this but I suspect the kensai item restrictions will disappear. Once you get UAI they would be gone anyway so might be ok to you.

Too bad RPGguy, it seems like we can't do such a thing...
And, in fact, I did start off with thief skills, about 40 skill points on the skills and stuff. I switched the kit straight to Assassin when I dualed. And yes, the restrictions for Kensai is gone, but there's a skill that's a must for Kensai/Thieves in the later stages when you get the "epic" skills called Use All Items. I think you'd know what it does.
So that's not too much of a problem.
The question is, will I still have all the things I have acquired from the Kensai class? (Such as the +1 hit increase and Kai).
By the way, I know that dual classing gives you the advantages of the class you dualed from, but, for example, as a Kensai you get a +1 to hit every 3rd or 4th level or something. That doesn't apply when your a thief, right?

Idk if you get the bonuses while you are a single class thief but once you reactivate your class, I think the bonuses will be there. I have never done this before and am pretty much just going off something Userunfriendly did when he made a Kensai/Sorc. However, I am just realizing that his was a bit different as he was not dual classing and instead just changing the class from fighter to sorc after leveling up as a Kensai.
Sorry I can't be more help. I am not really interested in these classes because they are too messy/don't work 100% kosher

For information only. It is possible to modify a kit so that it contains all the benefits of both classes, but it's very complicated and involves editing the .2da files, not for the faint hearted, or those who don;t have hours to spend tinkering. I have attempted it, with some success, but then felt like I was cheating all the time, which of course I was, and it made the game far to easy.

As I tried to explain, it's not about editing a character, it's about editing the data files the game uses, it requires a lot of time and effort, and you'd have to start a new game. I was only posting for information only as I noted. If you want to go to the trouble of editing the game thoroughly, or find alternative class kits, then I suggest you contact Spell Hold Studios or Chosen of Mystra.

Galraen, you are talking about editing the kit files right? That is a good idea, if you open the file kitlist.2da it will list what file each kit uses. Kensai is clabfi05, however this file was not in my override so you would have to open it in nearinfinity and export. Once you get the files open doesn't seem to hard to copy and paste
