Who should the Gauntlets of Expertise go to?

Post by Kerosene »

Berserker/Mage, Kensai/Assassin or Generic Archer (Tactics Mod)

If I give it to my Archer, he does more damage, and fires faster.

I don't think that giving it to my Thief class will do much... All he does is backstabbing, and sometimes attacking enemies if B/M is in trouble. But it does increase his backstab damage...

Berserker/Mage attacks faster and does more damage.

I don't know. What do you guys think? I have Sanchuudoku and FoA on B/M, and going to have Bow of Gesen on my Archer, and still thinking about what weapon to have on K/A. Maybe CF/Purifier?

Give it to the character who does not have 5 attacks per round, and his THAC0 ain't -11. In my opinion it sums it up. I play a sorc mostly however, and all my meleers are pretty much equaly equipped, so the gauntlets go to a random person.

I'd give it to your main character (the berserk/mage i guess?) because you want to hit with Sancho and FoA as often as possible, always. AND the main character, who cannot die no matter what, needs every edge he can get.

Kero, a piece of advice, chill.
No need to powerplay so early in your carreer. Chill and enjoy the game, no need to think so much- you can beat it, including Tactics, without stressing. 90% optimised or 100% matters little except if you emulate Longshot and play on insane with all tactical mods.

Were I you I would save that for later and just have fun now.

I've already finished the game.

And when I finish a game, the next time I play it, I want to beat the crap out of it. Or have lots of fun. :p

And makes sense... B/M should attack most with FoA and Sanch.

Ah come on Edar

I for one have fun emulating.. myself.. Many fights just ain't the same on Insane, cause of added content. As i mentioned quite a few times already, what good is about Irenicus in Hell fight (tactics, scs2) when he does not spawn 2 liches every turn? What good is about Ira'Kiou'Dneg when he does not one hit you with his map-wide-aoe? What good is in fighting priests, when their insect swarm does not result in your death, always? How about them mind flayers, they're borring and crappy until their "Throw a rock" attack hits for 90 and is unavoidable.

Erm.. Ok, You're right

Chill Kerosene! Chill i say! :D

Finished, yes... how many times? I am not at all trying to be condescending, and I do have my own preferences for PCs, but you gots to chill. I suspect beating the game with a PC that you are familiar with and symphathise with, the Ranger you would be if you could RL and dream of being when you go fishing... whatever, something you like instead of max power. In Denmark we have a saying, "man skyder ikke graaspurve med kanoner", translated (You do not shoot *a kind of small bird* using canons). See what I mean, chill...

Whatever, if it makes you happy...

Keep asking questions. We will answer, and if it doesn't help you it will help someone. Honestly I am astounded at the amount of miss-information found when searching, I want to get the truth out :D

Dunno about the others, but I am 39 with a life experience of an 80-YO ;-) Life has taught me much, the hard way, so I sometimes act old and grumpy.

I had guessed ;-) the eagerness is telling. Nothing wrong with that, but with time you will get more relaxed. Which is what I mean, the game is a roleplaying game, and just like real RP games it is not so much about winning, but about enjoying the process; playing, having fun trying different possibilities and solutions that you would not RL, etc...

Real Life (TM) Role Playing goals

Ages are approximate

12- 22: Big swords, big muscles, big spells, big boobs, beating the game/Gamemaster.

22- 32: Social interaction, fun, beer, tactical challenges, mind challenges, still BFS and big boobs, beating the challenge and GM with the GM, exploring alternative solutions to ones you would use RL.

32< social interaction, exploring alternative solutions, storytelling, mind challenges, surprise plots, working with the GM.

Dunno, about past 50 actually, my oldest RP friend is 50 and has played various things since 1976-ish.

Edit, not pointing fingers, just stating the obvious that our priorities change over life. Enjoy the process from whereever you are.

LOL!

True, true. Can't really argue with what you guys said.

But I don't really like Japanese stuff. For me, over the top. Big swords are cool, but it's kind of like... "Whatever" after a while of playing games.

I'll try to get around to it... Australia doesn't have many shops and channels with Japanese anime on/in it.
