/me points at Crenshinibon or Longshot. You will have to talk with them about that. I am more of a RP type who intuitively knows what works and is good (same way I fight mano'a'mano in Viking). I get my tactical kicks out of group fights in Viking and strategy games on computers, BG is a RP to me.

Just a few pointers - spoilers about Sanchuudoku

If you have installed Improved Irenicus in Hell battle,
Spoiler
then you will lose your katana during this fight
If you have installed tougher fire giant,
Spoiler
then you will DIE when attacking them with this katana (unless you protect yourself from fire FULLY) Regardless of your protections, your game will freeze when you fight the giants with acid katana
With this beign said i wouldnt combine the katana with FoA for your berserker / mage. Both FoA and Acid Katana should be in someones main hand... and since mages do not need damage resistance (cause of pfmw, mirror images, stoneskins) give FoA to a flail guy, along with DoE.

Your mage should abuse melf acid arrows and death fogs with this lovely blade.

Hmm hmm... Sanchuudoku + Deathfogs + Acid Arrows vs Ascensions Yaga-Shura.. hmm... On my way to edit ze tactical guide :D

Sancho sucks vs fireshield also, pretty much instant death if your attackin in melee range.

Seriously? I don't wanna lose the Sanch!

Do I just unequip it when I vs Improved Irenicus?

And why do I die instantly when I vs fire giants with the katana?

And I don't have anyone else to give the FoA to...

I have a beserker/mage, kensai/assassin, and an archer.

I still need to find a good combo for my kensai/assassin though... CF and something else...

And Stworca, could you explain the reply I posted up there, about the 18 strength and 19 strength thing?

Basically anything that hits you when you hit it causes a loop that ends with you hurting. In the fireshield example:

1. You hit mage.
2. Mage fireshield hits you.
3. Sanchandoku retaliates.
4. Mage fireshield hits you.
5. And on and on till your dead.

Similar thing with firegiants, but with lowering your resist to fire and Meteors I think.

And about Irenicus you get the sword back after the fight.

For your Kensai/Assassin I recommend Purifier offhand with Foebane/CF mainhand switch (CF for backstab, Foebane otherwise). With Purifier and a few other items 100% MR is very possible.

18 vs 19 strength is a big diff. 18/00 and 19, not so much. Your manual for SOA has tables with all the attributes bonuses.

Ah, thanks for that.

I don't have the manual for BG2... I think... I bought this... Pack of D&D games with BG1, ToSC, BG2, TOB, NWN, blah blah... I'll have a look though.

The manual is on the CD possibly. If not, Sorcerers Place has the manuals (under Tips & Hints or something) and if not there Replacementdocs has like every manual ever made lol.

The difference between 18/00 and 19 is 1 point in either attack or damage.

I seem to recall that last (and first) time I tried SCS II, Kuriosan was one of those parts imported from Tactics.
I have checked the various available weapons using SK this runthrough and there is no trace of it- I consequently deduce that he is not in it this time. Yet I installed no differently than last. Am my memory going already? Should he not be there?

Kuroisan never was a part of SCSII from what i know. Which means that he is unaffected by it.

Must be my memory then, sad really. Him and the party of bounty hunters turning up at inconvenient times in Athkatla were rewarding challenges.
