For those of you who have done full series playthroughs (with or without tutu), or just have experienced both BG1 and BG2, what are the items you miss the most that were either removed or changed/toned down in BG2?
For me the ring of wizardry. Old school version doubles number of 1st lvl spells you can memorize. My wild mage was rockin like 12 nahals dweometers in BG1!
Actually I can't pick just one. Acid arrows. In BG1 they do 2d6 acid damage in addition to normal damage! Add on the eagle bow (also missing from BG2), it was just insane. Acid arrows are hella nerfed in BG2.
And last thing, a vendor who actually sells arrows of detonation! These are the coolest arrows in the world and I think I got them maybe 2 times in BG2 (out of 100's of playthroughs), and then only like 10 of em.
Ok so your guys turn. Say what items you miss the most from BG1, or the ones that got nerfed beyond all recognition.

Bala's Axe (found in Durlag's Tower) great for killing mages, Miscast Magic on ever successful hit... awesome! Greagan's Harp was fun if you were playing as a bard - ah, getting caught stealing and making Flaming Fist kill each other... fun times
Two wrongs don't make a right... but three lefts do!

I know it's cheese but I miss the tomes
Surprised that none of these games create a relationship between attribute scores and XP.
Example: each of these characters kills a mind flayer
PLAYER A has all attributes at 18. Player B has 11/10/14/9/10/9.
PLAYER A is awarded 230 XP for killing the mind flayer. Player B gets 1475 XP for killing the same damn thing.
Reward players for accomplishing more with less. Give the cheese builds what they deserve...some cheese.

Noone would bother with re-rolling the initial stats 50 times then
What i miss the most from BG1 is an item that you cannot take, mainly the grave in Neshkel which spawned all the exploding skeletons. BG2 lacks such a challenging, but endless way to gain experience.
From wearable items.. I just miss armors with +3 enchancement, in ToB one should run with +12 of godslaying, but there are only +2 ones
