Someone still playing the BG serie?

Post by MathiasO »

As the topic says. I'm a fan of the game. Always been. I bought and played it as it was released, both the first and second game/ToB. Through the years I've played, not that I play very often but mayhap some few hours every week.

Though, ten years later, I wonder... are there still people playing the game? Except me of course. Just an intressting note.

Best regards,
Mathias

Since Baldurs Gate 2 section of gamebanshee forums is one of the most active ones.. I'd say yes, there are lots of us still here! :)

Probably not as many as 6 years ago when I started, but it certainly has a hard core of followers- and newcomers, look at Kero- who will play various versions over and over forever, like your favorite book...

Alright, and yes, I'd figure out there was some still playing of course due to the very forum. But as previous speaker noticed, six, seven years ago many more played indeed.

Nice to see some people still enjoy the old-school games such as myself.

To be quite honest gamebanshee aint as big as other BG2 boards

Gibberlings three, BWL surely have at least a "few" more. I guess this is because they create the mods, while we just lurk unseen and criticise everything :D

G 3 are also the most active modders. They have grown to be very-very good in the past couple of years.

It's been probably almost 8 years since I haven't played it.
Now, one month ago I decided to take my sword back and roam Amn for adventures and epic quests.

I used to try every single aspect of the game, and I'm decided to do it again.

And I have this feeling that I'll still be playing it in 8 years :)

The BG series is alive and well thanks to those of us that still mod the game. Plus they don't make good games any more with a good story and well written characters that you can interact with.
