Help! Assertion Failure.

Post by Fingers Boggis »

Having reinstalled BG2 and pushed through chapters 2 and 3 that I have played so, so many times before I have reached the underdark only to be met by an assertion failure.

Can anyone help me out with a saved game in the elven camp to hopefully bypass this problem? I don't know if it matters but I have ToB installed as well. I've never seen this problem before and its making me more than a little bit sad :(

Thanks (hopefully) in advance
Fingers

Have you installed the official ToB patch andUnofficial fixpack?

Know, that these solve a TON of problems.

Sorry no good, I speak to adalon, she tries to turn me into a drow and I get the assertion failure. I've never had a problem at this point before so I assume its a mod issue.
Currently got Rogue Rebalancing, Divine Remix, Item Upgrade, sola and valen

I've looked across the documentation and can't find any known issues there, I'm going to try re-installing now I've installed the fixpack

again many thanks

Ah. There is a bug that causes a crash with certain mod NPCs in party.

I believe a fix to it is either in fixpack or G3 tweaks. "remove drow avatar" or something like that.

There is a "remove drow avatar in underdark" tweak in ease of use mod which is what I use.

That's could be your problem right there. The Ease of Use mod has been depreciated and moved into G3 Tweakpack features.

Here's a quote from the Weidu.org website "Stop using this mod! Use G3 Tweak Pack instead, as it contains Ease of Use and is better supported"

Im not the OP. I have used ease of use and other mods from weidu page for years and they have always worked for me. I also use baldurdash patch instead of g3. I see no reason to switch, just because they are no longer being updated. I do not like the g3 tweak pack but to each his own, YMMV.

THats sorted it. Thanks everyone for your responses, particularly Stworca who was ridiculously quick to reply, and helpful with it.

I will miss running round looking like a drow but at least I get to carry on playing!

cheers
