"We'll probably die if we attempt to get out of the vault now or later....
I say we ride it out, I'd rather be alive in an unknown area than die trying to escape something we don't have to escape...."
Whistler-
"I am sorry, am I wrong with your name?
I wish I knew why but I don't...I vaguely remember that name...but don't exactly know who it belongs to, I can't quite picture the face.
Maybe I am wrong..."
Taking a gambit-
"Why can't men become priests? Does this have something to do with Lolth?"

whispering to cernd ar "I hear 3 people, one is possibly a half orc..." starts sweating a bit and gets a sour taste in the mouth "I also believe there is one of the cultists up there"
I indicate their positions to Cernd ar. "I do not enjoy the thought of facing one of those monsters again these are the options I see, we rush upstair and make it our goal to take the cultist before slaying the others.." I gently put my hand in the divine guardian "Or we wait for something to happen either they leave or something else happens"

option A: if I fail the check. I start talking about the reproductive cicle of pigeons and where Brim hides its secret stash of food near the fire place
Option B: I pass the check. "You dont have to be so rude, especially to the eldery" I shift my eyes off him "You could ask nicely instead, since its our first time talking Ill let it pass... now what do you want to know" I offer my hand "Profesor Brauer Drudoc at your service" winks "You can skip the professor part"

Reluctantly, Rahg'nuul agrees that it may be too dangerous to try and escape at this point. He's visibly terrified at the thought of where they might end up.Khannon-

Khannon, Rahg'nuul & Azhag
Khannon suggests that they ride out the vault's latesy surprise and Rhag'nuul reluctantly agrees. You watch the world outside the vault spin around faster and faster like being in the middle of a vortex. The two large front doors slam shut and lock.
The world outside sounds muffled but from what you can tell the vault itself is still moving outside. You can hear in the corner of the room the staircase move once more.

Kelnoz looks at you, "No, no you are correct that is my name.", he then straightens himself, "I suppose I could tell you why we aren't allowed to be priests... but I'm somewhat shocked that the crown had that much effect."
Kelnoz continues, "The simple truth is it all traces back to Lolth being female herself, and as you know well from the Sacrement of holy orders:
"We act in persona Lolth,
in the person of Lolth,
the Head of Her Body,
the Church."
I suppose men and women, by their natures, are suited to different, yet complementary, roles and functions." He finishes off.
"May I be of any more service to you, Mistress Ariel?" Kelnoz says.
Sense motive: 14+5=19
Something about how he said the word "Mistress", he seems suspicious and it's as if he testing something.

The goblins bring you to the eastern part of the fortress, a few goblins run ahead and coax the orcs on the eastern perimeter. away from their posts. The remaining goblins then lead you up to the eastern fortress side and tie a rope around your waist, and begin lowering you down towards the base of the fortress. The goblins lower you almost all the way down but then you hear some orcs shouting from the top of the keep, the goblins drop the rope to look inconspicuous, leaving you to fall into the bushes below...
You get yourself back on your feet just in time to see the Oruk's back at the eastern castle wall he appears to be turning around...
Brauer Drudoc
You break your gaze from the lizard being. You ask, "What do you want to know?".
"Anything I need to know about the person who is assaulting our crew members... Motives, Tactics, Suspects, anything.", the lizardman says briefly.
Cernd-ar
With your light you see the basement fairly well. It appears to be empty with exception of the wine kegs and the ladder at the end of the room. The light helps you not smack against the kegs and Arvall.

Arvall & Cernd-ar
Basically, since you are both surprising the enemy, you immediately get to go first, both of you. I'm assuming Cernd-ar would go first since Arvall wanted him to go first and Cernd-ar is pretty gung-ho! But if not, you both would have rolled initiative to compete with each other (as the surprise attackers), then the defenders (the villagers/cultists) would roll initiative.
Arvall, sneaks out of the cellar and heads around to the front of the door and prepare to smash through the door as you hear Cernd-ar sneak up through the cellar.
Cernd-ar rushes up the ladder and busts up through the trapdoor in the ceiling of the cellar. As you rise up from the floor, you find yourself under the rug. Apparently, they hid the trapdoor under a rug and now you stealthy/speedy entrance into the tavern looks somewhat ridiculous as the 3 villagers in the tavern see the form of Cernd-ar covered in the rug as he struggles to throw it off of himself.
Meanwhile, Arvall has to ram the front entrance way a couple times before he finally busts through the door.
The villanger's now alerted run out of the room and Cernd-ar can hear a door slam while Arvall makes in inside the tavern in time to see them run off through the northern door. Only catching a glimpse of the half-orc before he closes the door behind him. Throwing the carpet off, Cernd-ar looks around. Cernd-ar is behind the bartender's counter. With liquor bottles lined up behind him, a curved countertop in front of him with a small swinging section in the table to his left. The rest of the room has tables and chairs, A chair is overturned. The windows around the room are all closed up and locked up. The large doors on the far south has been smashed down and Arvall is standing with his blade drawn. To North, where the villagers escape to is closed, and you can only assume it is locked there.
Now that the villangers are alerted if you engage them in combat without somehow surprising them once more you'll need to roll initiatives to see who goes first... on the flip side they may now lead you into a trap which gives them first strike, where you get no initiative roll...
Khannon, Rahg'nuul & Azhag
Azhag looks at Khannon, "Ummm... don't worry I actually decided to sleep in the vault with you two, after returning the rope to Rahg'nuul and all...", he says sounding somewhat hurt.

Cid's Score 18/20
Cid goes back into his closed off booth and put the head phones on as you get in front of everyone on the stage. You can oddly smell the scent of smoke lingering in the air from previous spells that were cast.
Quarion gets up. " 'A needle in a haystack', as the old saying goes. For your next challenge you will be presented with 3 small piles of hay, one of which has a needle, you must locate this needle using up to a maximum of any 5 spells necessary. Your spells are allowed to damage the hay if they result in that, you may combine or separate the 3 stacks as you see fit. However keep in mind, along with spell usage, success and style you are also being ranked on speed."
True to his word 3 initiates of the guild place 3 piles of hay in front of you, leaving you to find the needle in the haystack.
"Oh, and one last thing", Quarion says, "I feel compelled to remind you that you may use Summoned creatures but no familiars, but of course you know that."

I'll let you decide how the orcs feel about the situation.
You think about trying to hit the Black orc atop of the Eastern wall but can't reach him now that you are down in the bushes at the base of the fortress. Instead you look up and wonder whether you should toss a stone at him and his armor when he turns around see you at base of the fortress, then looks back at the goblin who lowerred you down. The goblin had tried to make a stealthy getaway but the oruk grabs him by the neck and tosses him towards some orcs, "Make yourself useful!", he shouts before looking at you in disgust one last time and walking back out of sight. Within a few minutes the 3 orcs that had been distracted off of archer duty are back at the top of eastern wall.

out of game: had a good laugh picturing cernd ar screaming under a rug.
Arvall
kicks the door frame "By the hells" then takes a deep breath to steady himself
starts walking towards the north corridor "Stand next to me and rush in once I open the door", I take the crowbar I had pick off in the town hall and make three consecutive hits against the handle to force it open
1 STR check 12+3=15
2 STR check 9+3=12
3 STR check 15+3=18
RPGguy: if you get a better Idea please say it, this is the only thing I can think off
Brauer Drudoc
"A tough cookie this is" crosses his arms and ponders while walking around the piles of hay..."put them together" I say as I make another round around the hays.
puts is hands in his waist while I wait for the piles to join
once everything is together I grab a piece of chalk and make a small magic circle (fake) then I stick my hand into the hay I use "Ghost sound" from my racial ability to create the rumbling sound of breaking ice then I use "Prestidigitation" to create a needle
I stick my hand out and show the needle at the crowd.
DM: that one was a real head scratcher

ToDM: I just noticed that kozeph got his post up seconds before mine so I will defer to his and help him work at getting the door open. Sorry for any confusion.
Also...
Just a note, I am a fantasy football nutjob and I commish a huge FF league that requires a lot of time and energy. This is very busy time for our dynasty leagues as the NFL has just had the draft and our various FF leagues are now drafting, in turn, as a result.
Currently, I have to manage 48 different FF 'managers' from around the US (getting fees collected, getting the 2010 league set up, organizing drafts and auctions and a whole lot more). There's a lot of communication work involved.
So I guess what I am saying is, be patient with me. I am still super-commited to my PnP campaigns but I am balancing a lot with my free time right now. The worst should be over in 2-3 more weeks.

@RPGguy: No problem I’ve also been pretty busy as of late. I’ll be gone to an anime convention at the end of the month so I won’t be updating around that time. Also not having to worry about updating as much allows me some more time to work on the maps speaking of which…
@Sibberys: I’ll be updating whistler soon, I just have a few more floors to flesh out as far as maps, then you’ll be all set.

You being hiding in the bushes and move silently towards Eastern Falls, you get a decent distance away when the orcs finally hear the rustling of the bushes. They begin firing a few arrows at your area, but by this time you can take shelter behind some of the trees.
Once the orcs are busy re-notching their bows you slide down the hill and make your way towards the building at the bottom of the forested hillside.
You arrive in the Eastern Falls, it is a ghost town but aside from that there is no visible damage or any tell-tale signs of an ogre invasion. Perhaps all the ogres are busy swarming the keep.
You take on last look at the keep atop of the hill and make your way to the middle eastern area of Dunfall.
The middle Eastern area hasn’t faired as well and you can see that the entire section of the village has been devastated by the ogre’s boulders… You hear noises coming from the west.
You lean up against a building and listen…
Listen: 1-1 (wisdom)+ 0 (ranks)=0
(Correct me if I’m wrong with these…)
You can’t seem to make what the noises you were listening for because of all the rumbling noise. You decide to peak around the corner of the demolished building you are hiding behind to see if you can spot what lies ahead.
Spot: 3 -1 =2
Not much more luck, the sun seems to be getting blocked by something, probably a cloud. Also there’s this weird brick building around the corner. You don’t remember it being there before. You poke it with your rapier abit before sudden realization dawns…. You lift your helmet’s visor and look up, only to see an unamused ogre looking back down at you.
Arvall & Cernd-ar
Arvall wedges his crowbar against the door and pries at it three times. The first two attempts were in vain. As Arvall goes to pry it a third time, the crazed Cernd-ar jumps over the bar counter and smashes the door with his Flail. This explosive combined effort busts the door off its hinges.
Cernd-ar runs into the next room hoping to pursue the half-orc.
Beyond the door is a corridor, to the left there is a pair of doors on the right of the corridor. To the right there are some ricket wooden stairs leading up to the second floor. The Half-orc bruiser is at the top of the stairs. He Looks behind him and shouts to someone “Hey! Hand me that!”
Brauer Drudoc
The judges all look at each other, Soloman and the Tattooed half-orc Rilo-Kar nodding as they make notes.
Then the judges give their scores…
Soloman:4-5-4-3
Waltur: 5-5-4-4
Rilo-Kar:4-5-4-3
Ariel: 5-5-5-3
Quarion:5-4-4-3
Final Score: 17/20
Quarion gets up…. “Ohhh things have gotten quiet intense” he says rather flamboyantly. “The next round is a challenge of purely academics, so put on your wizard’s caps and I hope you all had plenty of study in.” He says with a wink as he spins to address the crowd, “By all means audience feel free to try and answer these next set of questions yourself. But no shouting the answers… I’m looking at you Soloman”, he points at Soloman who jokingly put his hands up and chuckles.
“For this round, Professor Brauer shall begin.”, Quarion says turning back around to address you, “Soloman has chosen 5 questions from the maester’s 3rd teir knowledge appendix questionnaires, they will be on varied categories. And both of you shall be asked the same questions, you may take a total of 5 minutes to think about the question, at which time, you may request me to repeat the the question. But that is all. No clarification or additional knowledge of the question can be asked. If you feel that such elements exist you must address these in your answer. 4 points per correct answer.”
Quarion clears his throat, “The first question is one that we can all relate to: Magic!
“Who is Bigby? What were his contributions to the arcane art? and what was his famous symbol?”
knowledge check, you gain a +1 if you choose the right knowledge type and an additional +1 on top of that if you have any ranks in that particular knowledge.
You do not get the second +1 bonus if you didn’t choose the right knowledge regardless of ranks in the knowledge or not.
You do still get you standard ranks added to the roll, but not the bonus.

No problem, like I said you can take your sweet time. I intend to stay in the castle for as long as possible, up until the initiation.
Listen up maggots, Mr. Popo's 'bout to teach you the pecking order.
