Legendary Pictures, whose successful co-productions include The Dark Knight, 300, Clash of the Titans, The Hangover and Watchmen, has acquired theatrical feature film rights to Mass Effect. The producers are in discussions with Mark Protosevich (I Am Legend, Thor) to draft a screenplay based on the fiction game series. Legendary’s Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni will produce the film with Avi and Ari Arad. BioWare co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk will serve as executive producers, as will Mass Effect executive producer Casey Hudson.
I suppose it was only a matter of time till that happened. Mass Effect was always more of a cinematic shooter, ala Half Life or BioShock, rather than an RPG.

I wonder why they continue trying to make movies based on games... I can't really think of one that hasn't utterly tanked, you'd think they'd have learned their lesson by now... ![Roll Eyes ](./images/smilies/)

You make a fair point. But I'm not so secretly hoping that Prince of Persia would be the first to buck that trend. I would also be pleased if the Mass Effect movie turns out to be quality. Read: Box office hit
Truth be told, as long as they don't let Uwe Boll within a 100 miles of the production, we should have cause for celebration.![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/)
