Brauer
Brauer uses Ghost sound to summon up the sound of a roaring jungle cat...

Will save: 13+1
vs
(DC 13)

The monkeys are visibly shaken from the sound of the wildcat but not enough so to be deterred from stealing your loot. Waltur and Raz ready themselves for the monkeys next assault.

Initiative
Waltur:3+3=6
Raz:3+1=4

Readied actions: Waltur, axe swing. Raz, Twin claw. Whenever monkeys are in range.

With their attacks at the ready they await... And then the monkey swarm attacks in full force. The first monkey flies towards Raz, but Raz is ready for him and swings with one of his claws.

Raz
3+2=7 Miss
Monkey
19+4=23 Hit
1 damage

Raz swings with his mighty claw and misses, creating an opening to kick the Furyian in the face before clinging on for dear life. A Monkey then swings by to attack Waltur, but waltur swings at it with his axe.

Waltur
7+4=11 miss
Monkey
8+0+Sleight of Hand=8 Miss

Waltur curses as he misses the monkey, however his swing throws off the monkey who avoids hitting him and instead scrabbles back to the trees. A monkey then jumps out of the trees towards you, however you didn't prepare any counter measure because you casted a spell.

Monkey
15+0+Sleight of Hand=15 Hit, Sleight of Hand=4+2=6 miss

The monkey jumps onto you but you manage to fling it off before it can steal anything from your pockets. The monkey then runs back up into the opposite trees. Another monkey swings in to assault Waltur after having missed the first monkey, but he didn't have any way of preparing to attack this next monkey...

Monkey
14+0+Sleight of Hand=14 miss

Waltur rolls out of the way and the monkey misses him instead landing in the opposite trees. Another monkey goes towards Raz, who is busy trying to pull a monkey off his face with one hand, but he smiles seeing the other monkey flying towards him having another clawed hand at the ready.

Raz
6+0=6 miss
Monkey
19+4=23 Hit (Wow, freaky same roll)
1 damage

Raz miscalculates his swing and the monkey instead lands on his hand bites his finger. Raz simply growls in frustration. Before you can do anything you are hit with yet ANOTHER monkey! So is the helpless Raz and Waltur.

Monkey (Brauer)
2+0+Sleight of Hand=2 miss
Monkey (Raz)
4+0+Sleight of Hand=4 miss
Monkey (Waltur)
2+0+Sleight of Hand=2 miss

Thankfully all of these monkeys miss their targets and 2 of them scramble back up the trees, except for the one that attacked Raz. After failing to land on him it crouches patiently to see if it can try to climb up the lizardman.

Battle map attached.

Belfore:

In this sort of situation you could try asking if you may use a certain skill, or attribute. Personally I'd say this is a dexterity roll, however if you had made a really awesome argument for it being a wisdom roll I might let you use that instead... but since you asked, dex. So roll big buddy!

Soloman waves his second wand.

Use magic device: 20 + 4=24 (Wow, bi-polar. wasn't his last roll a fumble?)

Immediately an entire colony of bats materializes out of his wand and bolt it towards the birdman each one making an attack on the flying beast.

The bats get +2 as an attack bonus, but since it's daylight they would get a -2 so it balances out...

Bat Swarm: 13
Hit 1d6+Wounding=6+Wounding(-1 hp per round)

The bats skillfully rend the flesh and drink the blood of the birdman completely avoiding the student. The birdman is just surrounded in a black aura of fluttering death as it body goes limp in the air. Then the releases the student from it's grasp...

Jarrackt

You ask the goblin why it's trying to rob people.
"It's a living and I refuse to serve under the orc scum any longer."
You ask where the Green Knight can be found.
"Haha, yeah the green knight. The thing is, you don't find him... He find you.", the goblin says with a smile.
There is some hushed whispers from the villagers... "Is he a knight? He sure doesn't look like one. Where's his horse? What's wrong with that man's eyes?"
"-Enough. We are getting off track. We didn't come all the way out here to fall into your poorly constructed traps or to discuss the green knight. We're here to put an end to your madness. It was one thing to start raiding caravans, but abducting the child thralls. Now that's another matter entirely! We want them back.", demands the villager with the pitchfork.
"You'll never get them back... Never!" Says the goblin making another futile attempt to struggle out of his self-inflicted bondage.

Khannon, Rhag'nuul & Azhag

When we last left off, the party had waited for the vault to resurface. But found themselves just a few miles away from a gnoll tribe, who had sent a scouting party towards the vault they were in. Rather than risk a confrontation with the gnolls the party went back down into the depths of the vault. They found themselves in a new room in the ever shifting maze. Azhag had found an untouched treasure chest and Khannon suggested opening it from afar...

Azhag pulls out some items from his bag, he then fashions a sort of spear with an exceptionally long handle and a crowbar at the end. He wedges the crowbar in the lip of the chest and pulls it open.
It opens easily... "Well it's nice that it isn't locked..."
The inside of the chest glitters with the vast amount of wealth inside. You consider beginning to immediately taking all the money, but that's when you hear scratching noises come from above...
You look up and see several dozens of rats swarming out of the holes in the ceiling and running along the edge, some of them spilling down to the floor below...

Arvall & Cernd-ar

When we last left off, the party had just finished entering the tavern and had attempted to capture the cultist being guarded by 3 bodyguards. 2 of the bodyguards died, and the cultist killed himself. However, one of the bodyguards who crippled himself after flinging himself at Arvall (I think) was still alive. So after retrieving the assorted medallions and other treasures Arvall interrogated the villager and found out...

*Doctor McKay was the town physician, but now as part of the cult he may be something "more". Cernd-ar knows where his house is located.
*The cultists believe there new God gives them power and shows divine favour, and through this the town will enter some sort of golden age.
*He seems to have hinted that there is a survivor from the tavern attack and that the "outsiders" who died in the tavern attack will come back to kill you later tonight. The one that is living and is indeed a woman, virgin if you're keeping track.
*From what you understand Lady Farnesse is the cult's seer or something along those lines.
*You ask about the medallions and all you know is that they are important for gaining entry to the "ceremony", outside of that, you are clueless.

"So I guess we need to pay the good doctor a visit", Cerndar says patting the head of his flail into his hand a grin forming on his face... So what do you want to do with him, I'm not going to let him stay hear to warn the others... although I'll be more than glad to make him serve AS a warning."

Brauer

The wand works without err, and two missiles fire forth from the wand and hit the monkeys. One of the monkeys is hit and explodes guts rainning down on the foilage below. The other monkey seeing this tries to run and gets smacked full force in the back. The monkey then smashes into the ground below and dies upon hitting the bloodied ground.
"By Hextor's Fist", says Waltur in astonishment. He then focuses himself near Raz and stares at the bush at your left preparing to swat the next monkey that comes towards him or Raz. But he prepares his body to dodge the monkey that'll undoubtably make a sneak attack on him from behind.

Feat Dodge vs monkey in northern Foilage.
Readied Action attack monkey when in range.

Meanwhile Raz now begins trying to crush the monkeys latched onto his face, now that they aren't swinging around or out of his reach...

10+2=12 miss
9+0=9 miss

But the monkeys seem to keep evading his movements while staying clung to his body... The monkeys then attempt biting Raz.

6+4=10 miss
11+4=15 hit!
1 point of damage

Then two monkies from the bushes to the left jump out of their trees and try to pounce you.

8+0=miss
7+0=miss

You quickly jump out of the way and the avoid the two monkeys, that retreat back into the trees to your right. The last monkey in the tree to your left jumps towards Waltur, but Waltur isn't surprised, he raises his axe and gets ready to bat the monkey out of the ballpark.

Waltur attack 4+4=8 miss

Monkey attack 2+0=2 miss

The monkey seeing the attack changes it's trajectory last second, avoiding Waltur's axe but also avoiding hitting him. The next monkey in the northern bushes jumps towards Waltur and having anticipated the attack prepares to dodge...

Monkey attack 11+0=11 miss

... which he does flawless. "Hextor be damned, these monkeys are wasting my time and my patience! I'll burn this entire forest down! I swear it!" Shouts Waltur defiantly at the trees.

Your turn

Belfore

You are unable to reach the student before he smashes through the tree branches and hits the ground...

:s
4d6=3+5+6+6=20

... The student shatters every single bone in his body upon impact and dies... limbs are twisted and a few from the rib cage protrude from the torso soaking the violet robes of the student in a dirty red...
Soloman looks utterly devastated... "Don't let them get any more students..." he says grimly. You nod solemnly and head back toward the students mace at the ready to attack the swooping birdman...
The birdman swoops down to snatch another one of the students...
The moment of truth... You swing your mace...

Attack roll + damage

Jarrackt

While that would have been considerred a miss in situations like this your assumed that you can perform a "take 20" since you honestly could take all day to hit the target. It's like stabbing a sleeping man, no roll necessary.

Actually it has it's own rule "Coup de Grace", this doesn't work with ranged weapons unless your adjacent to the target and could just stab him with the bolt or arrow in the jugular anyways. The other exception are creatures immune to criticals.

You knock him out with your sword hilt...

The villagers then look at you, "Look, we know it's alot for us simple folk to ask. We don't have any money to offer, but could you stop these goblins and rescue those kids? We'd love to do it, but we can't find the place and we're just simple farmers. But you you're a knight you could do it."
You consider what they're proposing.
"What you could do suggests another one of the villagers is try following the goblin whenever he wakes up. He'll most likely head straight back to their head quarters like they always do."
When they put it like that it might be easy... just a small detour from your search of the green knight... Then you recall your battle against the first ogre... stealth isn't your strong suit...

Arvall thinks of slashing the throat off the villiger, but before he can react he feels divine guardian influence on his mind, The divine guardian will proved stronger. Arvall gave a sigh of defeat "Do as you please" he mumbles to the priest.

You make a glorious swing against the birdman split its skull in two when as it swoops down. The Birdman then crashes behind you and a slump. THe javelin wielding birdman then tosses it's next javelin at Soloman before flying aware to the northwest...

7+3=10
Miss!

"Oh no you don't...", whispers Soloman as he commands his batswarm to now attack the retreating birdman leaving their previous victim to simply plummet to the ground.

13+2=15 Hit!
1d6+wounding=6 +wounding (another 6, odds are looking up!)

The retreating birdman is assaulted by the bat swarm, and is drained of all it's life essence while in mid-air. Soloman looks at the students. "All right you 2, carry that thing's body.", he says indicating the dried up husk of the birdman that had been assaulted by the bats. "As for you two carry the other one once the minions are done. We'll take them back to the ship for study. We have to leave the other bodies behind."

"I have to object sir", says one of the students, "I can't believe we're going to leave Michael's body in the jungle just to carry back some science projects. He deserves a proper burial with some funeral rites."

Soloman looks at them, "Look, I'd love to carry all 4 corpses out of here, and give Michael a proper burial, but the simple fact is in about 3 minutes or so every carnivore within a 50 foot radius of this place is going to come here for a meal and I'm not going to be anywhere near the two of these things when that happens."

"How about we let the giant turtle decide", says one of the female students.

"Fine...", says Soloman shaking his head.

Jarrackt

Alright first thing is first. Choose some form of concealment, whether it's behind a tree 5 feet away or atop of one 50 feet away, and roll a hide check.
Then roll a move silently check to follow him once he's up.

You grab the "Sacred Scriptures II", this one details some of the hierarchy of the faith in more detail and some of the rules and trials to become a priestess.
You try to read it but really can't make much heads or tails of it at the moment and find yourself slowly scrolling your eyes across the reams of text but your mind drifting onto thoughts of how large you imagine the castle is, where the weapons are stored, what time are the guards shifts, where do people sleep, and where can accidents occur. Whenever you snap yourself out of it, you notice that while your eyes moved and your fingers flipped the pages your mind hadn't soaked a single inkling of anything you read.
You hear a large armoured figure arrive at the door of the library. Either this figure has no concept of stealth, or doesn't need to. The door opens and a large armoured female wearing a red version of the guard's armour walks in. You notice that this one has a greatsword slung across her back and a nasty scar across one of her right eye leaving only a haunting ghostly orb left in it's place. Also while her hair is long unlike most of the drow female guards it has been braided to be less cumbersome.
The warrior falls to one knee and makes a bow, "Please forgive the interruption my lady, the curfew begins in a few minutes. May I have the honour of escorting you to your room?"

One last quick note is that the adventures of Khannon & Gang are back underway, update above.

Arvall & Cernd-ar

Arvall thinks of slashing the throat of the villager, and is even shocked to hear a whisper in his mind say "Grant him mercy, set him free.". You shake your head in disbelief. It seems the effects of your encounter with the monster from earlier may be more severe than you expected. Arvall, too shocked to do anything simply Arvall gives a sigh of defeat "Do as you please" he mumbles to the priest.
Cernd-ar looks at the villager, "May Hextor make a fine example of you in the afterlife...", before bringing the flail head down on the villager's skull.

After that episode, Cernd-ar leads you through some back alleys back towards the town centre square... You both see that the doctor's two-storey house is fairly close to the open expanse where the battle originally began. Although all the corpses have been removed and only the wreackage of the caravan remains. Unfortunately, the entrance of the house in in plain sight of everyone to see if someone happened to walk by. To make matters worse, there seems to be 6 people at the front of the doctor's door. 2 of these people are just leaving. These two villagers are carrying out 2 ornate coffins and placing them onto the back of a horse drawn wagon. The horse looks old and decrepit, and won't be bolting off anytime soon, but it looks like the they just plan on moving out slowly.
Meanwhile, the front entrance of the house is still guarded by 4 bodyguards.
Cernd-ar looks at you, "As much as I'd love to bash in all of their heads we can't go in crossbows blazing. I know that Dr.McKay has a secret escape in his house, but I'm not sure where, and if he hears a ruckus outside, well the coward doesn't have the will of Hextor to stand and meet judgement."

Armed with this information you re-examine the house. You notice that it's right beside the Townhouse you cleared earlier... If you can find a way to sneak across the open expanse of the market square and back into the town house you could find a way to sneak onto the roof. From there you'd need to lower yourselves to a second floor window...

But you may not have enough time! Perhaps you can simply sneak across and try entering one of the closed, and probably locked base floor windows in the back. But if you bust them then you'll have to deal with both the guards and you lose Dr.McKay.

Maybe there's another way entirely that you just haven't thought of...

You don't think the bandaging did anything, but it was a nice sentiment of sorts. "You probably didn't want to crawl out of bed for this non-sense... So, I guess we better get at it again. Are you up for another attempt?", The Furyian nods. Then takes a deep breath.
"I SMELL DEATH OVER THERE", the creature says solemnly pointing to the east. "Then let's go give our welcome.", says Waltur with a grin.

Scent Tracking
Survival:d20+1=1+1=2 Fumble

Raz and Waltur blaze a trail east, deeper into the jungle. You try to keep up with the two of them but they seem to be getting further and further ahead of you in their zeal... Worse yet, you really begin to doubt the duo's competence and abilities...

Make a survival roll to keep following them, knowing full well that they're probably lost... and even if they weren't heading face first towards death isn't a good sign...

Or you can depart from them and begin searching your way.

Arvall & Cernd-ar
You both head into the townhouse and you ask if there are any secret passages that Cernd-ar is aware of and he says that if there is any they'd have to be fairly new, which is unlikely since the townhall has remained unchanged for years. But he looks anyways...

After Search

You do not find anything. It makes you wonder how lady Farnesse escaped, perhaps there is more to her, much like the cultists... You suggest climbing to the roof and Cernd-ar comes up with an idea. He goes to the second floor of the townhall and goes to the room with the jammed window, which you unjammed earlier. He slides it open. There is small gap between the window ledge and the open window of the Doctor's office... You use your rope to secure Cernd-ar's grappling hook and then toss it across...

Cernd-ar's move silently: 18-4=14

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't you "use rope skill" +4

Use rope:d20+3=17+3=20!
climb 13+3=16
move silently 15+3=18

Cernd-ar's Climb: 7-4=3

The grapple secures perfectly and silently. Quickly you use it to climb into the doctor's house. Cernd-ar can't quiet make it, he just silently waves you in and pushes his back against the wall and waits flail at the ready. One inside you quickly retrieve your rope. You seem to be standing inside of the doctor's personal room with it's single bed and and a table across the room. On the table there is an open book with some bizarre writing on some of the pages, almost looks arcane and the writing is set in a spiral. Other pages have drawings of severed limbs and bizarre monstrous creatures and anatomy of corpses. There is also a drawer to the table but it appears to be locked. The exit to the room also appears to be locked, but thankfully from the inside and you easily unlock it...

Brauer
You spin the key round and round and eventually it stops pointing towards the north. You recall for a fact that the ship is down south, along the beach... It appears the key only points towards the vault if you wish to go there...

Azhag tries to see if he can recall anything useful in helping fight off the rats...

Khannon begins dancing atop of the rats under his bedroll crushing many of them as they squeak in terror. The second wave of rats pour down from the ceiling onto the ground and begin to amass. Rhag'nuul seeing the effectiveness of this tactic joins in and together the two stunties perform a rain dance atop the rat's heads...

8+3=11 miss

With less rats in the pack the remaining rodents are able to dodge the attacks from Rhag'nuul with ease. The rats, prepare their counter attack, and begin chewing through Khannon's bedroll.

Automatic hit
damage 1d6+disease=2+disease

The Rats make quick work of your bedroll and are atop of your feet within a few moments... Azhag quickly pulls out a new pile of items from his backpack, this time an eyepatch and some stones, thus creating a crude sling, he then loads a stone and whips it at the rats...

13-2=11 miss

The stone misses the rats instead hitting a wall.

Whistler

"Please excuse me", Says the warrioress nodding, " I forgot about your condition. I am Koil'dorath Val'Sarghress, commander of the royal guard here in the castle and in your service second only to mistress Quain'tana herself. The name is long, so you may simply call me Koil'do."
She raises to her feet, may I help you carry your books? She asks.
After denying or accepting her offer and choosing what books to bring you begin walking back to the room.
"I suppose in the hectic situation Kelnoz has been in he forgot to show you around and introduce you to everyone in the castle. Perhaps tommorrow if you are not busy I may give you a more professional tour of the main levels as I perform my routes if that is to your liking...", Koil'do say as she leads you up the stairs and to your room.
After you accept or decline you enter the room. You wonder whether you should get some sleep in or morph thought the window in a more wiry frame and onto the balcony to explore the castle some more by yourself...

"Alright", says Soloman, he then begins leading the party back towards the ship... Then the group hears the sounds of battle ringing in the jungle... And the shouts of a man laughing maniacally...
"****! Looks like the captain is in trouble... Follow along with me, but stay behind me or else we might lose someone else...", says Soloman before running off towards the battle.
You and the students follow him to see what the commotion is. You arrive in time to see a large burly man and a bizarre looking lizard struggling to fight a sort of animate tree... The man is in a frenzy hacking at the tree with his axe. You notice that near the base of the roots of the tree there is a chest imbedded in it's growth. The Lizardman seems to be stuck in a pit of quick stand, up to his waist...

Knowledge (Nature):12+2=14
Knowledge (Nature):9+2+2=13

Despite having been on the island for ages this is your first time encountering this type of tree, and the lizardman clearly isn't native to the island, but doesn't seem to be of the mainland either...

Jarrackt

You and Mao-ling hide behind the bushes off to the side of the road and watch the villagers leave and wait for the goblin to get up... You wait for what seems like an hour or two before the goblin finally gets up. The goblin arises to his feet wondering where he is and wondering why he's still alive. He slowly scans the area, before retreating off.

Sense motive: 6-1=5

You follow the goblin amazed that the idiot didn't see you once you're in the thick of the forest you and Mao-ling make a steady pace behind him, the goblin never looking behind him. Within a split second you find yourself dangling upside down in the air... Both you and Mao-ling ankles tied together dangling from a rope. Looks like you fell into a trap.
The goblin walks back, "I saw you back at the road... If I were you I'd just worry about getting out of the forest before the Gibberlings come up and find you...", then the goblin scurries off.

Role escape artist checks until you get a result of 15 or higher, or use another plan to escape. The way things are right now, you can't reach the rope with your small sword to cut the rope at your feet.

Khannon-

I back up as far as I can from the rat swarm (30ft and near a non-cornered area of the wall preferably), grab my caltrop back and dump them in front of me.

Whistler-

"Yes...that would be lovely. I've seen much of the place as it is and I'm already starting to familiarize myself...again I guess. A tour would indeed help."
You wonder whether you should get some sleep in or morph thought the window in a more wiry frame and onto the balcony to explore the castle some more by yourself...
Sorry but to me this is worded weird. I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to convey but if you're suggesting I can disguise myself in a different form, sneak out through a window and explore the castle some more, then I decline.

No need to make any sudden, unnecessary moves.

Quick note, Use rope is generally a Dex based skill, that's why I figured you had a +4.

You grab the book and listen closely to what is on the other side of the door. It takes you a long while to adjust bet when you get in the zone you hear somebody humming to themselves as they move about from what sounds like downstairs. You hear the running of water some more movement and then you hear the sound of the humming go further and further away...
Perhaps he's gone into a soundproof room, a basement or is just casually using his auxiliary exit.

Brauer

You begin to retrace your steps heading southward back to the ship. Taking a more leisurely pace this time around you decide to look about at the luscious wildlife. Along the path you come across a large tree that outgrew out a portion of the irregular landscape creating a minature well at the base of the tree. Because of this a variety of smaller wildlife has sprouted at the base of the tree. Around the edge of the well there are small dainty white flowers with purple centres, floating along the top of the well there are a few tadpole-like flowers, these water-lily like plants are a bright yellow. Finally there are some purple flowers sprouting from red vines that are hugging onto the side of the tree base.

If you wish, you can try to identify the 3 different plants or try and harvest them to study at your leisure back at the ship, or ignore them and continue onward... The ship and the edge of the jungle is only a small ways away.

Khannon

You back yourself up onto the bottom of the stairs and throw your caltrops in front of you as a defensive measure. You quickly look up the stairs to your right and notice that the path to escape the vault is still a possibility if things get dire, but then you'll be trapped between gnolls or swarms of rats... The rat swarm that descended from the roof now heads straight for Azhag!

16+3=19
1d6+Disease=4+disease
Fort save
6+0=6 fail
...?

Azhag looks quite terrible, while he has undoubtably caught some sort of disease from the rats, the sheer number of there rending teeth will probably spell the end of him before the infection does. Rhag'nuul concentrates hard to try and think of any sort of plan to fight the rats but can't think of any and decides to run across the swarm hoping that the rat swarm will not follow him to the west of the room.

20+4=24! Critical
1d4x2=1x2=2!

Rhag'nuul races over top of the swarm of rats crushing a few beneath his feet. He reaches the other side of the room. "Hey Khannon!, there appears to be some strange wall and devices and a switch over here!", he shouts.
"That's nice, how about you just worry about getting these blasted rats off of me first!", yells Azhag. The other rat swarm splits off into two smaller, but still vicious groups, one heads for Khannon, easily walking through his Caltrop feild, and the other chasing after Rhag'nuul to avenge their fallen...
Azhag having been backed into a corner to be consumed to death by the rats attempts to come up with one last plan...

Concentration check: 12+0=12 pass
Knowledge (Dungeoneering): 2+3=5

...Despite being able to concentrate in the given circumstances Azhag realizes that perhaps he should have studied something aside from just art if he wished to go into a life of adventuring. In only last act of defiance he decides to body slam himself into the ground and take out as many rats as he can...

19+0=19
1d3=3 Damage!

Azhag's plan works but you can see the look on his face as he realizes he's pretty much done for now...

Updated map included

Whistler

You notice that to the west of your room there is a window to the west leading to the outside catwalk. In the form of Ariel you happen to be just abit too large to squeeze through, but if you made yourself just an inch or two thinner and shorter you could sneak out of the room.
You decide against it, although it's nice to know that you have a last minute escape route if all hell breaks loose.
You then fall asleep... A surge of memories flood in. You find yourself back in the dock, now with the crown atop your head as Steeltooth makes a retreat. You recall the dwarf, gnome, halfling and human.
"All right, we can do this...", says the Gnome to the halfling. It sounds like he's convincing him to do something rather stupid... but it's more likely that he's trying to convince himself... But that doesn't stop the halfling from buying it. The dwarf pulls out his axe and hammer and begins scraping them together licking his lips. The human meanwhile is busy strapping something to his chest, he looks to the dwarf. "Are you sure these work?"
The dwarf looks at them, "Of course they don't work, the black powder is so diluted with sand that you'd be lucky to set a fart on fire with that. Nah, the rebellion boys are keeping all the good stuff for themselves for whenever they actually do want to blow something off the map." Then the dwarf breaks out into a fit of laughter.
"Well, that's comforting...", says the human looking at the jar despairingly... Suddenly the halfling points at the entrance... "Hey guys when did that chest show up?"
"AS IF! They actually paid the ransom, hahaha... See the royal guard isn't that amazing.", says the gnome going over to retrieve the chest.
"Wait it's a-", the dwarf silences the halfling...
"Of course it's a trap... But we're still going to look surprised when we all end up dead.", whispers the dwarf, "Between the b**ch-queen's assassin puppet, her expert marksmen and legion of soldiers we never stood a chance."
With that the halfling begins trembling, the gnome opens the chest. He then stands completely still...
"Something wrong...", asks the human, part in character, part in genuine curiosity.
In response the gnome's head falls back and rolls on the ground, the body tumbles over next... A drow is wedge inside the chest with a bloodied blade. Before the group can react the window crashes to the far off left and a bolt goes straight through the human's head and out the other side... You look to see where the shot came from and can only make a miniature silhouette along the rooftop of the neighbouring dock. The halfing retreats somewhere behind you but you can't turn to see what gets him, only hearing the slashing noises and the slump of the body. The dwarf turns around to face the attacker and get a series of 8 bolts in the chest. He falls to the ground smiling from ear to ear... You pass out as you hear people approach from behind you, "Is she still al...?", ".....", "....... .... .. ... ....."....
When you awake the sun has been set for probably an hour. Fully rested you hear that the castle floor is in a bit of a ruckus. From what you can make of the scenario, it sounds like someone important is arriving. A knock comes at the door, you open it and two houseservants arrive bringing an series of dresses that they recommend that you wear and the matching paraphanelia to match. While the decadence of the situation is enough to make you vomit, you play along choosing the least gaudy of the dresses. After nodding a hundred times and both agreeing how wise your choice is they point you toward the bathroom area.
You ask the servants who is arriving. "Why, it's your sister Syphile...", exclaims one of the butlers, the other servant whispers, "Oh my... Excuse me. Yes, your sister has just returned from completing her trials into Priesthood. A festival will be held in her honour at the pleasure of mistress of Quain'tana."
With that you quickly go about the morning ritual. The bathroom of the castle doesn't seem as ornate as one would expect however it is fully stocked with everything you did expect plus some extra items. The bathroom has a variety of silken fabrics stashed away, a series of expensive perfumes, oil and salves. However the items that interest you most are the series of vials stashed in the back of the cupboard, 3 red, 1 green and 1 blue. Also you find a box of needles, possibly for acupuncture? You also find a shelf with a variety of stones, the most interesting of which are a pair of rubies kept in opposite ends of the drawer in separate metal boxes.
Upon originally examining them you find them to be nothing more than large valuables, however as you examine your newly found treasure while in the tub you notice that the stones feel progressively warmer in your touch. Experimenting with them a bit you notice the rate at which they gain heat depends on the proximity to each other. You wonder what possible purpose these stones once served... and what purpose they could serve you now...

Unless mentioned otherwise you put away the stones and leave all other valuables in their proper place.
Once you finish bathing and dressing, Kelnoz awaits you outside of the washroom patiently. He looks just as worn as ever, with big bags forming under his eyes. He leads you back to the dining room. There is a large breakfast of various fruits laid out a taller woman clad in a dirt stained cloak and purple fitted robes is busily eating away at everything in front of her as various server routinely bring her more wine and fruit. Kelnoz helps you into your seat and stands off to the side.
The woman doesn't acknowledge you, only noticing Kelnoz. "Aaah Brother. Take this." She pulls off the cloak with the dirt, and drops it on the ground. "Be a dear and burn it, then buy me a new one."
Kelnoz simply nods and retrieves the cloak.

The chest is imbedded in the living tree, but aside from that it looks like it is safe from threats. Soloman looks at you eyebrow raised, "If you want to get inbetween that madman's axe and the tree be my guest". You look back to see Waltur hacking away with his axe at the tree as the tree attempts to swing back at it, creaking and churning with every lumbering movement.
Waltur begins by pulling out a touch and lighting it, "I'll hack you, I'll burn you, I'll make a mini boat to carry that chest there for me before you can even give me a splinter!", yells the raider as he swings violently at the tree.

Waltur: 10 + 4 = 14 miss

Waltur stuggles enough to fight off the incoming branches that he can't make a solid strike against the tree itself. "Want to guess what the handle of my axe is made of? It'll be made of you next!", Waltur shouts. The lizardman while stuck in the quick sand flings itself into a rage and attempts to climb out of the sand.

The lizardman only sinks further into the quicksand, now shoulders deep. While Waltur fights the tree's branches, the branch above him drops a mysterious looking fruit. This splashes onto Waltur and the ground he's on. The ground slowly dissolves away into mud... then quicksand!

Soloman pulls out a wand and casts a spell overtop of the lizardman.

You and Mao-ling try to escape but after the first hour, you tell him to stop. Thinking that having two people wiggle at once was the problem, 4 hours later the rope just snaps after exhausting every means of escape. It's now night time and your companion seems hungry. You think of setting up camp. But that's when you hear something off in the distance... Faint at first. But then you hear it terrible shrieking from the north and a rumble of feet as picking up in noise almost becoming deafening. On the horizon of the forest atop of the higher elevation to the north you see them spill over... You can't make out too much even with the dark vision. Only a sea of squat humanoids amassing running through the trees like water through reeds.
You look back at Mao-ling weapon at the ready but he's already started running off down south of the forest.

Whistler-
I put the stones away as indicated but contemplate what they could do for my blades.

I make a use magic device check as sort of a knowledge, more or less to see if they could be applicable to my punching daggers in any way other than decoration-

Use Magic Device-
1d20+4
2+4 = 6

Coming to a blank, I think of the stones themselves, wondering if I had ever heard of them from this city before-

Knowledge Local-
1d20+6
2+6 = 8

"Ahh...well, not too important right now I guess," he says, realizing these may just be beyond him for the time being.

At the breakfast feast-

"I apologize if I sound like I'm being a nuisance...but why throw away a cloak that could be mended and cleaned with a simple cantrip spell?"

Sense Motive-
1d20+5
16+5 = 21

If I see that she's giving me a look that tells me what I just said was weird or flat out wrong, I add on- "That would take far less time than having our dear brother travel all the way to the city and back for virtually the same garment, right?"

Khannon-

(forgot to include my fortitude save versus disease-

1d20+4
18+4 = 22)

I immediately attempt to leap over the swarms of rats going my way and rush towards Azhag, exclaiming "I'm coming, hang in there alright!!!"

Jump-
1d20+10
11+10 = 21

Afterwards, I immediately begin furiously throwing the rats off his body as fast as I can, even if I have to do it one by one-

Attack Rolls (not sure how many can apply so I'll throw in three)-
1d20+5
12+5 = 17

1d20+5
10+5 = 15

1d20+5
20+5 = 25
