Changing NPC alignment?

Post by Edar Macilrille »

Now, I prefer to play good types, if not goodie-two-shoes. But I really like Korgan, for an evil psycho he is actually quite nice, so I am considering at some time in the future to change his alignment with SK and bring him along. However, how will Minsc, Keldorn, Anomen, etc react to an alignment-changed evil fella? Is it the chracter they react to or the alignment?

AFAIK the only things most characters react to are your actions and what you say to people. Alignment doesn't matter that much in the vanilla game, though being evil does give you some different quest options.

I guess I was not clear enough in my question, and assumed everybody knows that I do not play Vanilla.

Anyway, I like Korgan, so I want to change his alignment and bring him in a good party. But I know that there are some other good NPCs that he will get into fights with when he is evil. However, what if he is good or neutral? Will they still attack him or is it the evilness they attack- not the character?

If you have no objections to not playing vanilla I'd suggest installing: IEP Extended Banters.
In addition to adding new dialogue it allows you to negotiate party conflicts. Though, your charisma needs to be sufficiently high, I think.

Only Aerie clashes with Korgan and it's part of the dialogue, so if you're not using her you'll be alright. Alternately, you could use the Happy Patch, or the Extended Banters (wish I'd known about that one when I still had WinRAR going).

@Ode,
you don't need Winrar to open IEP.. just use zip genius. It opens most formats, is 100% free and contains no malware. It's all I ever use to unpack (or pack) files.

Cheers DW. :)

How does the banter in IEP Extended Banters compare to the original/s?
