Jack *spoilers*
Jack *spoilers*
Hey guys,
although this thread will contain spoilers for some, please try to spoil me as little as possible. So... I've been talking to Jack a few times and I've reached the point where I can have sex with her. My character is renegade, so I'm probably going to do it, but I have a few questions first.
#1 Will having sex with Jack affect any of my other romance options? Cause I don't really want to go all the way with Jack.
#2 If I should decide to romance Jack, will it still be possible if I have sex with her the first chance I get?
#3 Will she be angry or something? As in, will it affect getting the loyalty mission for example?
If anyone could answer all these questions it'd be much appreciated.
So long,
Sol

Nope.

IIRC, once you accept her first offer for a casual sex encounter, she'll refuse to speak to you again, responding with an expletive each time approached. So the answer is again, no.

She'll be pissed. But I'm not a 100% sure that it'll affect her loyalty mission as you seem to get those regardless of whether you spend time talking to your teammates.

First of all, thx for all you answers. You really helped me out. She does refuse to talk to me after the encounter, but are you 100% sure she won't talk to me ever again?Loki[D.d.G] wrote:Spoiler

Edit: Just tried talking to her again and paid more attention to her choice of words. It really does seem like I won't be able to talk to her again. I'm a bit worried about the loyalty mission... and also, I like talking to my crew ;> Are there many more dialogues if you choose not to have sex with her?
Edit2: I've done a bit of careful searching, and have confirmed that she definitely won't talk me again. Haven't found out about the loyalty mission though(and can't try too hard either to prevent spoiling), but it seems that you get all the loyalty missions no matter what do you. Can anyone confirm this?

She does become considerably more interesting should you take the time to get to know her. I didn't like Jack, and still don't, but I could empathize somewhat with her attitude and condition once I she began to open up and relate her history.

Hm, ok. I will still choose casual sex though I think, if I still get the loyalty mission that is.Loki[D.d.G] wrote:She does become considerably more interesting should you take the time to get to know her. That decision does not affect the loyalty mission for Jack. It only makes the full romance with her impossible. She'll still talk to you (only about) when giving her loyalty mission (when Kelly directs you to go talk to Jack in her "hidey-hole", some time soon after Horizon). However, you'll have to choose between Jack and Miranda after both their loyalty missions are completed, resulting in the other one to lose loyalty (only way to have both remain loyal is having the Paragon or Renegade points nearly maxed out).
So in short, I should do one of the two loyalty missions very very late in the game? I got Jack's loyalty mission btw.Pulverizer wrote:Answers in spoiler tags:

That would be my advice. Jack's loyalty power: Warp Ammo, is quite awesome (especially good as your bonus power if you are playing a class weak against barriers or armors). So that makes an argument for doing her mission early on. On the other hand, if you are pursuing romance with Miranda, that'll be stalled until you complete her loyalty mission...Solusek wrote:So in short, I should do one of the two loyalty missions very very late in the game? I'm not sure whether I'm going to romance Miranda or not. But since romancing Jack is out of question now anyways, I'm going to do Miranda's loyalty mission first. She and Garrus are my standard team too.Pulverizer wrote:That would be my advice. On the contrary, evidence points towards the fact that the P/R response for resolving teammate's conflicts are scaled to your level. Hence doing both of their loyalty missions fairly late in the game may not be totally advisable.Solusek wrote:So in short, I should do one of the two loyalty missions very very late in the game? I see... Thx. Seems like I'll just have to try then. Any pointers to the exact values I need for the respective levels?Loki[D.d.G] wrote:On the contrary, evidence points towards the fact that the P/R response for resolving teammate's conflicts are scaled to your level. Not sure if that's true, from all the sources I have read. Here's the excerpt from Gamebanshee's walkthrough:Loki[D.d.G] wrote:On the contrary, evidence points towards the fact that the P/R response for resolving teammate's conflicts are scaled to your level. Note: After completing Miranda's and Jack's loyalty missions, the two will square off on board the Normandy. If you have enough renegade or paragon points (something over 80% should be enough), then you'll be able to diffuse the situation, and keep both characters loyal. If you have to choose between them, then you'll lose the loyalty of the woman you don't pick, plus lose any chance of a romance with her (if you're male). However, the character you don't pick will keep her extra power and outfit, and you'll later be able to talk to her and regain her loyalty if you can get your renegade / paragon points high enough.
Furthermore, for this pair, the renegade option has lower requirements than the paragon option. Also, the "regain loyalty by talking later" option definitely requires close 100% renegade/paragon points. In case you side with Miranda, the talk later option might not be available for Jack if you have had casual sex with her, since she won't talk to you anymore (not certain about this one, but I think that is what happened in my renegade playthrough).
