Game crashes during endgame

Post by whacky »

Hello guys,

My game crashes in Santa Monica right as I speak with the Cab driver (crashes to desktop, game closes).

My game also crashes on the boat after rescuing Johansen, but I console skipped that. However since the conversation with the cab driver is crucial in deciding the endgame, I can't skip it can I?

If anybody have any tips, please help!

Did you open the dialog sound files with Windows Media Player? This can corrupt the file and cause the game to crash.
If you did, I believe you'll have to reinstall.

To what extend have you patched this game?

A simpler thing to do is to save the game right before you talk to the cabbie. If something is pooched there, then it's something else. It could be that you listened to the audio files in the game directory, or something else is screwed up. I recommend that you might want to reinstall the game, and go from there if that's the case. If you want to listen to the stuff, I strongly recommend that you copy them, and listen to them that way. Do not copy them back. Delete them after you are done.

Hello guys

Re-installing the game did the trick.

Listening to the dialogues corrupts the game :speech:

Thanks for all the help!!
