1st off..

You should be able to right-click on an opponent and bring up menu. From the menu select "examine", and the "sheet" that pops-up should tell you the alignment, racial type, etc..

2nd:

Bonuses (that are the same) don't "stack" for a single piece of equipment. Instead you take the highest bonus against the appropriate opponent.

Benzo's Luck:

+1 ac vs everyone that isn't either evil or chaotic.

+3 ac vs everyone that is either evil or chaotic (or both).

Blessing of the Daystar:

A +3 enhancement bonus against everyone that isn't Undead (racial type).

(..enhancements effect your attack AND damage.. i.e. +3 attack and +3 damage per hit.)

A +5 enhancement bonus against all Undead.

ADDITIONALLY

It has +1d6 damage against Undead.

1d6 is a "roll" calculation, meaning you could have between 1 and 6 points of damage based on the "roll". The average is of course 3 points of damage.

So against Undead it has:

+5 attack
+5 damage
+1d6 damage (averaging 3 points of damage)

I should also add that most opponents are either some type of evil (lawful, neutral, or chaotic), or pure neutral. The neutral ones are usually beasts, elementals, or golems.

There are no modifiers that attach to "neutral" that I'm aware of.

Sorry, I'd checked it in MOTB.

Looking at the OC it just mentions hostility and difficulty. :o

On the other hand you do get to see what the racial type is.. i.e. duergar, gith, shadow, etc..

If you want to learn more about races you can go here:

Creature - NWN2Wiki, the Neverwinter Nights 2 wiki - Races, classes, skills, and more

..or search for the race here (which typically has their generic alignment listed):

http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/S ... =1&x=0&y=0

Some have listings on alignments, some don't. Some even have full listings of immunities and damage reduction - which can give you a good idea of why some opponents may be so difficult to damage.

Ex. Elite Vampire:

http://nwn2.wikia.com/wiki/Elite_vampire

..which has damage reduction unless you have an alchemical silver weapon or one with an enhancement better than +1.

Usually only most of the humanoid types have different alignments. However some races like Duergar and Drow are almost always some form of Evil.

Some of the races are sub-types. For instance Duergar is actually a sub-type of Dwarf - specifically a Gray Dwarf. (..and gives this sub-type once you click on dwarf.)

but if that is so...HOW can we effectively use such items.....<_<....

what if i end up using chaotic armor against a neutral evil elite vampire.....i'd get pulverized.....:speech:

this actually explains ALOT.....i know that elite vampires are immune to most things...but i was just using them and the alignment as an example.....

so in the OC am i to ignore these kinds of items.....just use em for cash?.... :o

Basically you use them until you have either found OR crafted something better. Once you have, sell them to whomever has the highest limits on purchases.

AC isn't a huge deal.. but being able to damage something is. For that you need a general knowledge of various opponents in game. For instance most undead will have a hard time with Fire damage, while on the other hand a Fire Elemental is predictably immune from Fire damage.

Pretty early on in the game you can craft +3 items I forget exactly which level but it is not too long after you get to neverwinter. The materials needed are not that rare and you should at least be able to get your main character and your favorite companions into +3 armor.

So then if you have +3 armor it is better than +1, +3 vs whatever

This is the reason why I don't recall that issue coming up in the game. I am not a big fan of those items that are only good vs one monster unless it is something drastic like an immunity to one of their attacks or some major damage. Otherwise you can always get an item that is better around the clock and almost as good in those special situations.

Now that being said the one thing that sticks out is + damage vs evil... That would probably be pretty good because as scott says most of the monsters are evil.
Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.
