Massive XP & the ending

it really made sad to get the massive 2000000 xp from the bronze sphere towards the end of the game (since the game ends and you will find no use of the xp and your powerful character furthermore). also the torment tattoo which will never find its use.

PST is the only crpg i have ever finished, so is it 'customary' to give these kind of massive xp boost at the end?

It doesn't happen in every cRPG, no. But in case of PST it's perfectly logical - through the whole gameplay you've been trying to acquire your real name and after all the hassle, you finally obtain it - the reward must be proper then. And these 2 million xp fulfill that role
