Changes in 7.0:
(+) denotes changes only available when you are playing plus edition of this patch
+Repaired Tourette ammo and added XP and redemption for the Gargoyle.
+Removed SM clinic combat zone and added netcafe combat zone switch.
+Added SWAT rifle ammo model and restored several blunt weapon stats.
+Improved Yukie translation and removed GLOCKs from the Hallowbrook.
+Decreased bomb timer to 30 seconds and changed endgame Skelter line.
Fixed Arthur, Lu, Beckett, Isaac, Victor and killer dialogue issues.
Restored about hundred unused floats and removed bad ones for Kiki.
Fixed tutorial blood reset and improved Chunk Gallery Noir sequence.
Opened beachhouse door on combat and moved blanket to Hannah's bed.
Fixed Gary's photo sound, Ricky's glasses and improved emails order.
Removed Grout's trigger after use and Murietta's key if not needed.
Swapped some pedestrians to reduce clones and added Yukie quest log.
Fixed Yukie boots, Sabbat ankh and Barabus feet, thanks to DDLullu.
Displaced two buggy Luckee Star doors and made the sweeper stronger.
Fixed Dane cop, Bertram, Dennis, LaCroix, Venus and Knox dialogues.
Repaired Ox, mugger and Heather dialogues and restored Barabus line.
Corrected Lily cutscene and stalker hair models, thanks to DDLullu.

Thanks for the patch Wesp. Just when I was getting nostalgic and preparing for a playthrough with a Gangrel.

I've been meaning to ask you about this for a long, long time. The trouble is that I don't know what to ask. It is just cool.
Do you have a really high IQ or something, and writing in this style just comes naturally to you? That's a bad question, but it would be awesome if it were true.

I added a switch that turns it off again when entering the computer room, because otherwise after it once got activated by meeting the headrunners you could kill all the NPCs there without a penalty.Octarine wrote:I thought that was already in the game. Something strange happened... I installed the v7.0 patch on a fresh VTMB and after the tutorial, when I first checked my mail in my haven, I found a message from Mitnick thanking me for getting an item for him and got the respective EXP points for completing such task. I closed the game in disgust and didn't even bother to check if my reward was in my mailbox. Has this happened to any of you too?
Maybe I'll give it another try soon, I hope that was just a one time bug and that it was not patch-related, but right now all my enthusiasm for playing has just faded away.

This is a known bug of patch 7.0 which is caused by a new plus version quest accidentally ending up partially in the basic version. First post here, played this game start to finish 3 times in 2005 (toreador, malkav, gangrel), and returning to the game in 2010 to finally play nosferatu.

Excellent work, and a big thanks and thumbs up to the Unofficial patch and all the joy it brings. I did indeed also notice the e-mail bug, and decided I wouldn't let that stop me from playing so they're still waiting in my box to be opened. I found 2 more bugs much later in the game though, and the second one did stop me for now:

- 1: Chastity drops Shin Gunto. I'm pretty sure she didn't drop this in previous games, I was like: wtf? But continued to play with it in my inv, as it's not unbalancing or really changing anything. Am I mistaking, or is this "the + patch accidentally ending up in basic"? Confirmed.
- 2: No matter which option I choose - how I accept this quest, order of things, talk to strauss first or not, be nice to strauss or not - I can't rat out Strauss to Isaac about the Gargoyle. When you want to tell him about the Gargoyle and what you've learned, you get only 2 options, in all cases:
1. Sorry, I think I'll deal with it first.
2. It's nothing. Forget it. I have to go.
And I love to rat Strauss out.. creepy Tremere. Though my next char will be a female Tremere.. be nice to him then :devil:
ed: Update to this bug, I may be mistaking, as I'm now getting the option to betray Strauss to Isaac after telling Isaac what you did to the Gargoyle (the killed option anyway). I'll investigate further and compare with original.
I'm also running through the entire FAQ by vampyri_lestat to spot for minor corrections, and mostly Nosferatu tips because it's confusing to be able to speak to some humans, but not to others.

You're welcome! I'm considered a very precise individual, perfect for stuff like this (ed.: or i'm just the only one choosing basic AND precise while all the other precise ppl chose Plus). I'm definitely gonna try the Plus patch though, as I have a double install of winxp and win7 (both home editions OEM). But in windows 7 the blood bar and life bar are washed out, as well as the picture you see when you interact. Are those bugs solved by those .dll files mentioned under DX 11 (DX 9 emulate)? (i went straight to winxp after seeing the screwed up pictures in win7).
ps.: gonna leave my male nossie named Dobby for now, and start a female Treme. Guess what I'm gonna call her?

found solution to washed out graphics
ed 4: The unofficial patch turns out to be pretty important for Windows 7 users, due to:
Patched engine.dll and shaderapidx9.dll files are included to repair
refresh-rate, no-coronas-after-load and bad-or-missing-textures-with
-more-than-2-GB-memory bugs, also the downloadable vampire.dll file.
Without engine.dll, Windows 7 will still load the game correctly, but without shaderapidx9.dll , all HUD graphics are washed out and ugly.
ed: By the way, when Vandal confronts you, can you Dominate him? FAQ by lestat says you can, Dementate too, but I can't remember if I dementated him with my Malkav 5 years ago. Testing now with Dominate 3 and no luck. All I get is the first persuade option, and if i take intimidate 4 i can make him give me a blue blood pack, but no discipline options are shown.
ed 2: Same problem for the upper class victim. Dominate 3 does nothing. Should I have 4 in Santa Monica? Persuade and Intimidate options work fine.

Domination in Conversation only works vor Ventrue, iirc... either for all dialogues or just for a few, not sure. So with a Tremere you still have to rely on being honeytongued, creepy or violent.

Makes game balance sense. Tremere are already powerful enough as it is.
3. Found something new I think. When you successfully persuade Milligan to go down to the hospital, you still lose HUMANITY. I think that's ok though, since you know what will happen to him. But in the original game if the faq by lestat is correct you didn't lose HUMANITY.

The XP works though (don't know what was broken?). Note: I did combine the 2nd hub (theatre) and Imalia's quest at some point, gaining 4 stackable WEB CAMERA's. But I used them all 4.

Basic patch 7.0 spoiled this game for me
Well, "Basic" patch 7.0 really ruined some of the enjoyment of my very first play through of this legendary game, and that hurts. Those emails from the plus version that pop up have some titanic spoilers in them. I am in the very first part of the game, only an hour's playtime or so, and now I know who the killer is, thanks to an email about a certain blood type obtained by "the tabloids" that I just read. And there isn't any way to see who the email is from and thus avoid it. And I'm not about to skip ALL the emails, because for all I know one of them is critical to the game. Honestly, what a downer. My very first playthrough. I guess I will reroll a different clan and play unpatched/true patch, or wait until 7.1 and hope there are no more glaring bugs like this in it. Bah.
I guess the other thing I could try is the plus version. I'm assuming that it handles the timeline better so these additional emails don't become spoilers? I haven't found the plus version on the web yet though.

Sorry, but you are mistaken.
